Born in Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Paddy has been a vibrant force in the world of showbands. He first picked up the saxophone and joined a band at the tender age of 15, marking the beginning of a dazzling career that would see him perform on stages across the country. With a talent for bringing joy and a warm spirit, Paddy became a fixture in the hearts of many music lovers.

His passion for music took him to great heights, even bringing him to the same room as Elvis Presley! Over the years, he became known as the "King of the Showband Era," captivating audiences with his charismatic performances and smooth vocals. As a testament to his impact, President Michael D. Higgins and Taoiseach remarked on what an exceptional talent he was, underscoring the immense loss felt across the muisc community. Unfortunately, Paddy's journey came to an end due to complications from lung cancer, which he battled bravely since 2022, surrounded by his loving family till the very end.
