A huge fire breaks out in North Dublin's industrial estate, and it’s smoke you can see from a mile away!

In a dramatic turn of events this evening, North Dublin became the centre of attention as emergency services battled a massive fire at an industrial park located off the Oscar Traynor Road in Coolock. The fire, which broke out just before 5 PM, quickly escalated, and onlookers were stunned as thick plumes of dark smoke filled the sky, visible from a considerable distance. Local residents are now dodging any smoke in the air while they comply with Gardaí's requests to close their windows for safety. It looks like some people are living out the ultimate fire drill, but it’s hardly fun and games!

The scene became a hive of activity as five fire engines rolled onto the scene to tackle the blaze alongside the Gardaí who are managing traffic in the area. Large flames could be seen licking at the edges of the premises, with thick smoke creating a rather dramatic atmosphere. Meanwhile, a turntable ladder was also deployed, ensuring firefighters could target the flames from above. It’s like something out of an action film, except nobody wants to be the unwitting star!

As firefighting efforts continued, reports emerged of partial structural collapses due to the intense heat of the blaze. Fire Brigade officials were on high alert, and the message was clear: Stay back and let the professionals handle the situation. While the full extent of the damage remains to be seen, the incident has sparked numerous conversations among residents about safety measures and emergency responses in the area. Watching a fire-fighting operation might just rival watching your favorite sports game — with added suspense!

In the face of this raging inferno, it’s a reminder of the incredible work that first responders undertake daily. Did you know that Dublin Fire Brigade operates more than 24 fire stations and is renowned for its swift response times? They also handle an estimated 10,000 emergencies a year, covering everything from fires to water rescues. On a lighter note, let’s hope the only thing getting positively roasted in the area is the marshmallows at your next backyard BBQ!
