Celebrate Atlanta: Transforming Landmarks and Communities

Atlanta - Atlanta Police Foundation - Centennial Olympic Park - Chattanooga - Georgia State Historic Preservation Office - Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority - Trust for Public Land

Discover the vibrant pulse of Atlanta with stories of creatives, redevelopment, and cultural upgrades! Atlanta is a city on the move, blending history with modernity to create a brighter future.

Atlanta, known for its rich cultural tapestry, is currently abuzz with tales of its Black and Brown creatives. Filmmaker William Feagins, Jr. captures the essence of Atlanta's BIPOC artists in his captivating short films, shedding light on their voices and lives. The city's historic Civic Center is set for a transformation that includes a significant focus on preservation, with a decade-long collaboration planned between the city, the Georgia State Historic Preservation Office, the Atlanta Housing Authority, and developers. City Councilmember Amir Farokhi is optimistic about the Civic Center redevelopment, envisioning the addition of thousands of housing units to meet the city's growing needs. In a tech-savvy move, Tyson Morris, former CIO of Chattanooga, has taken on the same role with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, bringing his expertise to enhance Atlanta's transit system.
