REVIEW: Keanu Reeves Dominates Paris and More in New 'John ... (Glitter Magazine)

John Wick franchise fans are in for nonstop action across Jordan, Japan, Berlin, and Paris, in Keanu Reeves' latest action flick John Wick: Chapter 4 ...

He realizes that John Wick isn’t so bad when he shoots a bullet into the villain and saves his dog while Wick is literally fighting for his own life from Nobody’s line of fire. There’s a distinct duality between Caine and Wick with both of them having this softer side and experiencing love and loss; Wick lost his wife to cancer and Caine’s daughter’s life is being threatened. The duel which is eventually set in Paris, of course, has something in it for Winston, he wants his hotel back. Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) joins the cast as Caine, a long-time friend of Wick who has been ordered by The High Table to kill him. The film opens with John in a desert in Jordan on a horse in fast pursuit of an Arabian villain who Wick kills. Sanada is a martial arts expert and action film star best known for Bullet Train and Army of the Dead.

The John Wick workout that keeps Keanu Reeves in shape (British GQ)

Expert personal trainer Patrick Murphy talks us through how the John Wick 4 star maintains his combat edge as he closes in on the big 6-0.

“I would meet Keanu daily after his stunt training,” says Murphy. “Keanu’s grit and stamina are astounding to witness.” “These roles would exhaust any young actor in their twenties,” says Murphy. “Keep in mind, JW2, JW3, Matrix 4, and JW4 were all captured close in proximity,” Murphy explains. After that, the film’s success – and Reeves’ schedule – snowballed. He’s not just a badass on screen; IRL he can shoot guns, ride bikes, and he knows kung-fu.

John Wick Dies in Chapter 4? Sequel, Spinoffs Coming for Keanu ... (Variety)

After 'John Wick 4,' where will Keanu Reeves' assassin appear next? There are already two spinoffs in the works.

“John Wick 4” also has one final, future plot thread teased in the post-credits scene with Akira (Rina Sawayama) and Caine. Colin Woodell plays a young Winston, Ayomide Adegun is Charon, Katie McGrath is The Adjudicator and Peter Greene is Uncle Charlie, who goes onto covertly dispose of bodies in the “John Wick” movies. [“John Wick 5” was already in the works](https://variety.com/2020/film/news/john-wick-5-new-dirty-dancing-movie-1234728033/), before “John Wick 4” had even begun filming. The group also includes Katia (Natalia Tena), who welcomed Wick back into the adoptive family and branded him with their crest in “John Wick 4.” Taking place between the third and fourth “John Wick” films, “Ballerina” stars de Armas as an assassin named Rooney who hunts down her family’s murderers. Instead of firing his third and final bullet in his duel against Caine, Wick held onto the round and shot the Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard), who had walked over to deliver the final blow to Wick before checking to see if he was out of bullets.

The 10 Best Keanu Reeves Movies (Empire)

From John Wick to The Matrix, Empire looks at the greatest Keanu Reeves roles and films.

Among [the](https://www.empireonline.com/people/lilly-wachowski/) [Wachowskis’](https://www.empireonline.com/people/lana-wachowski/) incredible visuals and torrent of ideas, Reeves’ pale blankness is the still point around which everything else revolves. [Sandra Bullock](https://www.empireonline.com/people/sandra-bullock/) is great. [John Woo](https://www.empireonline.com/people/john-woo/), and Jean Baudrillard with a whirling style that bends time, space and your frontal cortex in knots. [Kathryn Bigelow](https://www.empireonline.com/people/kathryn-bigelow/)’s movie is, on one level, about an FBI mole who gets in with a bunch of surfers who are suspected of a string of bank robberies. Yes, [Dennis Hopper](https://www.empireonline.com/people/dennis-hopper/) gnaws off large chunks of scenery. [Ron Howard](https://www.empireonline.com/people/ron-howard/)’s comedy-drama – a parental odyssey via multiple generations of an extended family – has it all: laughs, tears, and [Steve Martin](https://www.empireonline.com/people/steve-martin/) making balloon animals. [Alan Moore](https://www.empireonline.com/people/alan-moore/)’s comic book creation is the most overt and unusual exploration of them, crammed with ideas and angles and visions of fiery, hellish torment. To [Dianne Wiest](https://www.empireonline.com/people/dianne-wiest/)’s matriarch Helen, her daughter Julie’s ( [Martha Plimpton](https://www.empireonline.com/people/martha-plimpton/)) boyfriend at first glance seems unsavoury, forever bouncing about, prone to dangerous drag racing and a fondness for taking sexy naked photos of himself and Julie. [Gus Van Sant](https://www.empireonline.com/people/gus-van-sant/) puts one of the more oblique spins you’ll see on a couple of Shakespeare’s more oblique works – both parts of Henry IV – in this drifting, delicate story of unrequited infatuation, which pulls out one of Reeves’ most tender and thoughtful performances. And, wouldn’t you know, it’s because he’s unknowingly made a literal deal with the literal devil, as played with enormous relish by [Al Pacino](https://www.empireonline.com/people/al-pacino/). He started out as a goofball, then hardened into a streamlined, teeth-gritted [action](https://www.empireonline.com/movies/features/best-action-movies/) star, before reinventing what it even meant to be a streamlined, teeth-gritted action star. [Keanu Reeves](https://www.empireonline.com/people/keanu-reeves/) was thought by many to be little more than a cardboard-cutout Hollywood lunk.

And when it comes to the best bit, the dog may have the last bark. With Reeves joined by Donnie Yen as the blind assassin Caine, Shamier Anderson as the spin-off-deserving Tracker, and a Belgian Shepherd with No Name that's as much the star of the show as Mr Wick himself, the film effectively becomes the Three Hitmen and Dog of the Apocalypse and is all the better for that. Beautiful bedlam - Keanu Reeves cranks up the combat with John ... (CBC.ca)

Keanu Reeves suits up for more endless action in John Wick: Chapter 4, a film that surprised CBC News critic Eli Glasner with its bigger, bolder battles and ...

The final element that makes the fourth film a must-see is the creativity of the combat itself. There's an acute sense of physicality to what John Wick endures. ](https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/lance-reddick-1.6782836) Reddick played Charon, the concierge of the Continental who helped add a civilized air to the realm of cut-throat killers. In simple combat gear with his own faithful dog at his side, the Tracker stays on the fringes, watching and waiting for the right time to strike. When Wick meets to propose trial by combat, it's at a long ornate table in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, with the men drawing metallic cards to choose their weapons. The reverberations rippling through the world of Wick are driven by a personnel change. For an appetizer we begin with a desert gun battle on horseback, followed by a showdown at a Japanese hotel, enemies diving and dodging in a neon-lit art gallery. In one scene we are floating over walls surveying Wick with a deadly bird's eye view. On the surface he may seem like a blank slate but this is the zen of Keanu. There's an honesty and authenticity to what he does. Reunited again with stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski, Keanu Reeves has delivered a film audacious and artful. Let's be honest — Keanu Reeves is not an actor for everything.

John Wick 4: Keanu Reeves Cut Open a Stunt Man's Head on Set (IndieWire)

Keanu Reeves admitted he made a "mistake" during "John Wick: Chapter 4" and accidentally cut open a stuntman's head.

It depends on my gauging of you, if I think you’re a capable human and you’re comfortable with it, that no longer becomes a stunt, it’s a special ability,” Stahleksi said during “ Like Keanu, as far as martial arts choreography and driving goes, he is better in a car than I ever was as a stunt double. Reeves continued, “But other than that — oh, one guy got hit by a car.

Keanu Reeves & Chad Stahelski Talk 'John Wick: Chapter 4' Stunts ... (Collider.com)

Keanu Reeves and John Wick: Chapter 4 director Chad Stahelski reveal how they filmed the impossible stunts of the John Wick franchise and more.

And basically we kind of interact and then we come around, I draw and then he unleashes the cane and all of the choreography we had went out the window. So can you sort of just talk a little bit about filming that and you standing there where cars are going by, you and the fact that that's really happening? They go up and we slow down their rate of descent so we can put them down the ground a little bit easier so they can survive. And we just thought, well, we trade off so much with the video game world and we, we like so much of like Asian cinema, so we wanna do a top shot. You have a good rehearsal and you have a cast member that does 98% of it himself. Can you sort of talk about filming that and why you wanted to do a oner? So I was training dog hits, getting hit by the dog and pulled by the dog. So when we get together with, you know, I got my 30 stunt guys plus 30 of the dance people, they all kind of work well together, and then we just build the extras out in sections of 50. STAHELSKI: Really, my dad's a plumber, so I grew up with all these water fixtures growing up, and he had this waterfall feature in the house that we had worked on when I was like 14. Like I on number four, as you guys just watched, we tried to do a lot of different characters and a lot of different storylines all converging on John's storyline. But I think the movie we released is absolutely the best version of everything we've tried, and we tried all kinds of different stuff just to proof check it. And it was like the marker and all of the friendships–

Keanu Reeves Transforms Into Deathstroke for DC Elseworlds Fan Art (MovieWeb)

Many fans want to see Keanu Reeves delving back into the comic book movie realm and new artwork makes the case for him to play Deathstroke.

Meanwhile, Manu Bennett played Deathstroke in the Arrowverse, while Esai Morales took on the role for the DC Universe/HBO Max series Titans.
