A bus carrying asylum seekers has been prevented from entering the site of Columb Barracks in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
In February, the Department of Integration confirmed that 120 asylum seekers were to be accommodated in 15 tents at the barracks. They are opposed to a plan to accommodate the asylum seekers in tents at the former army barracks. A group of protesters gathered at the front gates of the former barracks and blocked the bus from entering.
