Search for 14-year-old was suspended on Tuesday, almost a week after he vanished in Eaton, Indiana.

When he went missing last week, police shared a picture of him wearing a white shirt with writing on it referring to the minor as a “liar”. We want to help him and make sure he’s safe,” Mr Turner said. “We are a small department,” the chief said. We ask that if you continue to search on your own today, please refrain from wooded areas, tree lines, rivers, etc as this will only hinder the investigation while they’re in the air searching”. “What they did today was very tremendous,” Mr Turner told WTHR. I need to know that you’re safe.” Mr Turner said Scottie’s parents are fully cooperating with the investigation. The search was suspended on Tuesday as investigators regroup on next steps. According to the official Silver Alert, Morris is 5 ‘4″ and 150 pounds with blue eyes. “We’ve [searched] the entire town at least four times. Although acquaintances reportedly described Morris as “the sweetest” and “very polite,” Turner told The Star Press the teen tried to run away once in the past. We’ve pretty much exhausted everything we can looking in this area. Ligett also tried to quell some of the rumors surrounding the case on social media, most of which began after police shared the full-length photo of Morris where he looks upset while wearing a white T-shirt with the hand-written black ink messages, which included “cheat” underlined and a drawing of a crying face on Morris’s right shoulder. [Silver Alert issued the following day](https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/INPOLICE/bulletins/34f73cb) said Morris – who was only wearing shorts and a white T-shirt when he vanished – is believed to be in “extreme danger” and “may require medical assistance.” [Speaking to The Star Press](https://www.thestarpress.com/story/news/local/2023/03/20/scottie-dean-morris-search-ends-with-no-sign-of-missing-eaton-teen/70031475007/) late Monday, Eaton Police Chief Jay Turner said that investigators were “coming to the end of the searches” for the teen after having exhausted all avenues.

Scottie Dean Morris, 14, left his family's home about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and has not been seen since.

Turner said the photo had been posted quickly because of concerns for the boy's safety, given that he was last seen wearing shorts and a T-shirt on an especially cold evening. Douglas Walker is a news reporter at The Star Press. The searches are not being randomly conducted, Turner said. Anyone with information on Scottie Dean Morris is asked to call the Eaton Police Department at 765-396-3297 or 911. The teen had apparently been in conflict with adults at his home on Thursday, and after the disappearance, Eaton police at first posted a photo online — reportedly taken earlier that day — that showed the youth looking unhappy and wearing a shirt that had words scrawled on it, referring to the boy as a liar. "It's unbelievable the way the community has come together," Turner said, referring both to the searches and efforts by others to support those looking for the teen.
