France v Wales Live: Kick-off time, TV channel and team news (WalesOnline)

The Six Nations finishes today, with Wales taking on the French in Paris at 2.45pm.

If they lose in Paris, an Italian win against Scotland would see last place decided by points difference, while a bonus point win for the Azzurri would consign Wales to only their second sixth place finish ever. For this to be realised, they will need a bonus point win over France and hope for heavy losses for Scotland and England with neither of those sides picking up losing bonus points. - Fourth - Wales would again need a bonus point win against France and hope for either Scotland or England to lose heavily. "There's been a lot of pressure back in Wales and for the whole of Welsh rugby it's been a difficult challenge. Regardless of whether that's the right call or not, we know how Wales will look to play in Paris. OK, this is highly unlikely but Wales can actually finish the Six Nations as high as third today. I can remember the early days when he came out of the Dragons, and he never missed a training session. But the reality is Wales' midfield was leaky last week and it would risk a similar result this time around against the terrifying French attack. He was unlucky at Bath with the amount of injuries he picked up there. He will be joined in Paris by his family, who have helped him become one of the best players ever to wear a Wales jersey. We can play better with and without the ball. We've got a group of boys who stick together and it's been good out here."

Back for the penalty; again Wales go to the corner. Louis Rees-Zammit plays the speculator, trying to conjure something from his sleeve but missing the mark with a blind offload in the vague direction of Rio Dyer. Wales’ third attacking five-metre lineout of the first seven minutes. The advantage prompts a wider pass, Rhys Webb unfurling a loquacious ball that whispers in the faces of the approaching French defence as it flies beyond them into North’s hands. France started at a canter against both Scotland and England so this is a different test for Fabien Galthie’s men. A perfect touchline conversion from Thomas Ramos levels things up.

France v Wales: Six Nations 2023 – live (The Guardian)

Minute-by-minute report: France need to secure victory and then hope for a favour from England in Dublin to win the title. Join Lee Calvert.

From the lineout Wales drive over, but they are held up and Ntamack will have to drop out from under his posts. The catch and drive from the lineout splinters France who infringe for the fifth time in the opening minutes, and as the advantage is being paid, North takes advantage of the confusion to run through a gap and under the posts. France exit with little fuss and that allows Rees-Zammit to have a run on the kick return. They are up into the 22 again and Les Bleus are offside once more, but Biggar spurns the posts and puts in in the corner. He finds Dupont (who else?) in support in the 22 and the little man looks right and flings a missile of a pass out to Penaud on the touchline to score. From the lineout, Wales can’t get a maul going but they are again working phases at pace up to the line which have France defending like demons, and inevitably they are offside again, and Biggar once more goes to the corner. He pops the ball to Rees Zammit who clears to touch, but it was on the full and so France will have a chance to attack from inside the Welsh 22. Webb puts a lovely angled kick into touch in the France 22 and Gatland’s men will have the ball back from the French exit kick. After he is hauled down the ball is fired via four long passes touchline to touchline where Danty is waiting to score in the corner. France look up a bit of a blind alley in the middle of the park, but they don’t panic keep the runner and passes coming until Ramos works Dupont free up the left touchline. Faletau sees a glimpse of the ball at a breakdown, but he was in no position to grab it as he was not on his feet. Dupont opts for the scrum from the penalty in the 22.

France v Wales live: Score and latest updates from the Six Nations (Telegraph.co.uk)

France have won 28 of their 35 games under Fabien Galthié and worryingly for Wales there is nobody in the Six Nations, Italy apart, that he has a better ...

France squeezed past Italy in the opening weekend, got beaten fairly convincingly by Ireland the following week and then managed to take advantage of Scottish mistakes to beat Finn Russell's men in Paris. They came into the weekend fifth in the Six Nations, thanks to last weekend's 29-17 victory over and Italian team that gave Wales every opportunity to take the win. In many ways the pressure if off Wales, they're 20-point underdogs with the bookies and given how electric France looked last week the weight of public expectation isn't upon them. France play the ball from left to right but poor handling means the ball slips free and George North absolutely leathers the ball down field. Given recent England performances it's probably a bridge too far for them to leave the Aviva with a win and stop Ireland scoring a bonus point, but it's possible. Wales had a lot of ball early in the half and looked dangerous but the French defence held firm for the most part. France, Grand Slam winners just last year, come into this game on the back of a momentous 53-10 victory over England a week ago. Ntamack breaks the Welsh line, sprinting deep into the Welsh half before finding Dupont, who does what he does best and releasing Penaud with a simply fantastic pass. The ball then gets switched to the right, eventually feeding Danty, who is closed down by Welsh players but nobody is stopping a man who is built like a milk float. The Wales scrum, certainly, looks a concern. The ball then gets played out left before Antonio managed to score his first try for France in his 50th appearance. In fact, we were treated to what was probably the best 20-minute spell that Warren Gatland's side have put together in this year's championship, underlined by an excellent try from George North.

Wales sign off their Six Nations campaign in Paris on Saturday afternoon, after finally opening their account with a win over Italy in Rome last weekend.

It was a stunt that would land the Springboks chief with a two-month ban for misconduct. “I felt that Mr Erasmus’ video brought into question my professionalism and my integrity as a match official and that there was an inference to be drawn that I was in some way cheating as an official, which is obviously completely untrue. "I feel that regardless of the outcome and any sanctions imposed, my reputation as a referee and person will be tarnished. “Though a small proportion of the rugby community will follow the outcome of this matter, and in the process obtain an accurate account of what really occurred, the wider rugby community will only be aware of me in the context of this incident. "I have spent many years trying to build my reputation as an international referee and in the course of his video which was posted online, Mr Erasmus has caused it immeasurable damage. "However, due to the actions of Mr Erasmus, my family and I have endured a significant amount of distress and we will only have negative memories of the whole experience.

France beat Wales to keep Six Nations hopes alive (BBC Sport)

France keep alive their hopes of retaining the Six Nations with a bonus-point win against Wales in Paris.

Penaud had the last laugh in that battle as he cantered in for his second try. Defeat was not the farewell they would have wanted from this tournament. The onslaught continued in the second half with the France attack pulling the Welsh defence from side to side before prop Atonio crossed for his first try in his 50th international. France centre Fickou avoided a yellow tackle for an illegal tackle on Wales lock Alun Wyn Jones with the Wales lock lifted above the horizontal. The Wales coach flagged the end of an era for Wales in Paris on Saturday by predicting "up to eight" players will potentially make their final Six Nations appearances. In contrast, Wales have now lost 13 out of the last 17 games and lie in ninth in the world rankings as they ponder where they go from here following another underwhelming Six Nations campaign.

Six Nations: Five takeaways from France v Wales clash (planetrugby.com)

Following a 41-28 victory for France over Wales in their Six Nations fixture, here's our five takeaways from the match at the Stade de France on Saturday.

While Dupont tends to dominate the spotlight, the numbers racked up this Six Nations by Penaud and Ramos are impressive. The pair may not have been on top of their game in the opening match but have undoubtedly improved as the competition has progressed. The La Rochelle star’s breakdown influence was obvious in their dominant victory over England and although Wales did a better job of shackling him in Paris, he still managed to disrupt their ball. Yes, Les Bleus have re-found their form, and they are a very difficult team to stop, but Warren Gatland’s men simply have to do better. Make no mistake about this Les Bleus side; they are serious contenders to win the Rugby World Cup on home soil and are rightly favourites. It’s been mentioned this campaign that the Six Nations feels like it’s broken down into at least two categories in terms of quality.
