'Agent Elvis' Ending Explained: Is Elvis Presley Just a Clone? (Collider.com)

Netflix's hotly anticipated Agent Elvis premiered Friday on the streaming platform and the 10-episode series concluded its first season with a surprising ...

The final moments of the episode see the nose of Elvis’ Lisa Marie burning up and rocketing back to earth as a fireball. [During the first nine episodes](https://collider.com/agent-elvis-poster-netflix/), the writers have managed to highlight elements that could suggest Elvis died during testing, with The Commander advising to “shut it down” or how Goulet stated all that stuff he was pumped with should have killed him, but it didn’t. Meanwhile, Elvis tries to make sense of his return to TCB but gets gifted a jetpack from The Commander, making his decision to “save the world” an easy one. But to disconnect the two, Elvis and CeCe must destroy the dish, ultimately putting an end to the evil villain’s plans. Edgar Hoover and the FBI “shitting themselves.” With The Commander seeing that force as more of an opportunity to weaponize rock and roll, he used Elvis as a device to reproduce that power and control. Not happy with leaving behind his chimpanzee, Elvis decides to head to space with Bobby Ray and a reluctant CeCe on his Lisa Marie plane-turned-spaceship, to rescue the monkey with the help of Neil Armstrong’s stolen spacesuit. With The Commander having no choice left but to ask Elvis, who is busy preparing for the “biggest concert of his life,” for help, he approaches the singer and informs him that there’s a problem attached to the concert. As they attempt to shoot at it, Wolf’s henchmen attack the pair, but they are saved by Goulet, who suggests he get back to the concert, but Elvis says it won’t happen before taking out the dish while suddenly noticing the M symbol on his rocket launcher. However, that time is cut short as well when fans begin to hound Elvis for autographs and photos, and CeCe appears with a suggestive plea for Elvis to return to TCB. But as the ingredients that made Elvis so appealing to the masses caused too much chaos in test samples and the radical dose turned out to be too unstable, The Commander shut the whole thing down. With the help of psychedelic drugs advocate, Timothy Leary, TCB created a prototype from Elvis’ DNA that found the scientist using the singer’s own essence as a chemical to make spies and killing machines. Getting Bobby Ray (Johnny Knoxville) to help him create a penis mold to unlock a glory hole at an unsuspecting stall in TCB’s restroom, Elvis breaks into TCB’s mainframe and heads to an “Ultra Classified Area” with CeCe.

'Agent Elvis' Review: Matthew McConaughey as Elvis in Netflix ... (Hollywood Reporter)

Matthew McConaughey voices Elvis Presley in 'Agent Elvis,' a Netflix animated comedy that features Priscilla Presley among its creators.

It’s a reasonable supposition that Nash is talented enough to read the phone book and make it funny, but Agent Elvis ponders: “What if she were given a character even less entertaining than a phone book?” Elvis may have had a bad Oscar night on Sunday, falling victim to the Everything Everywhere All at Once onslaught, but you can’t keep the King down for long. And does Agent Elvis even have a fun nod to the movie? Then there’s the actual history, because at least half the time when something crazy goes down in Agent Elvis, if you wonder, “Wait, did that actually happen?” the answer is a resounding “Kinda!” Did Elvis actually adopt a chimpanzee named Scatter and did Scatter have a drinking problem? Did the Black Panthers actually have an embassy in Algeria and did they give asylum to Timothy Leary? Probably most of it isn’t true, but enough of the best details in Agent Elvis have a basis in reality that I was laughing at the audacity of its real-life inspirations much more than at its attempted punchlines. You’ll also quickly discover that the character’s costumes, designed and cartoon-refined by John Varvatos, match amazingly well with real outfits Elvis wore, presumably not while fighting off international supervillains. Can Elvis save the world and still make it home at night to Priscilla? This Elvis has no addictions, no penchant for womanizing and, despite a first season that stretches all the way through his Hawaiian special, he doesn’t put on a single pound. There’s Jason Mantzoukas voicing a version of Howard Hughes who has more of a resemblance to Jason Mantzoukas than to Leonardo DiCaprio. No, the best thing about Netflix’s Agent Elvis is that no matter how outlandish and ridiculous it is, it’s all true. The series begins with Elvis (McConaughey) rehearsing for his 1968 comeback special, one of several things in the series that will offer extra amusement for the many viewers who recently watched Baz Luhrmann’s film.

'Agent Elvis' turns the King into a secret agent in a surreal Adult ... (CNN)

As ideas go, though, this one feels too out-there for its own good. Produced with Priscilla Presley, it’s certainly weird, although given all the ’70s references, it’s frankly hard to envision for whom this is intended. Elvis Presley wasn't the only recording artist to serve his country (The Spokesman-Review)

An army of BTS fans have wondered why members of their favorite K-pop group must serve time in the South Korean military. Well, BTS band members aren't the ...

“The King of Country” served in Hawaii and sang in the army-sponsored band, Rambling Country. Rapper-turned-actor Ice-T joined the army to straighten out his life in 1979. Before Johnny Cash was known as “The Man in Black,” the country icon was a man in uniform. After completing his paratrooper training Hendrix was awarded the Screaming Eagles Award in early 1962. Hendrix enlisted in May 1961 and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. Presley even declined special treatment – a comfortable role in the military’s Special Services.

Agent Elvis, review: well bless my soul, this superspy cartoon ... (Telegraph.co.uk)

Matthew McConaughey voices Elvis, Priscilla Presley voices herself, and the premise is utterly doolally - but it's irresistible.

From that show, Agent Elvis has learned that you can have all of the stylised animation you like, all of the jokes about Howard Hughes storing jars of his own urine, all of the (admittedly very funny) Elvis hippy-dissing, but even a pastiche of a spy thriller needs a plot. Yet Agent Elvis is, in the round, a blast for the viewer too. [Priscilla Presley](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/priscilla-presley-on-life-with-elvis--and-how-she-fell-in-love-w/) herself and asks what if Elvis Presley, already a hero to many, was an even more untouchable legend who was saving the world with his fists at the same time as he was saving the world with his songs.

Agent Elvis Review: Elvis Presley Stars in an Insane Show ... (Leisurebyte)

Agent Elvis is an adult animation series created by Priscilla Presley and John Eddie and stars Matthew McConaughey, Kaitlin Olson, Don Cheadle and Christina ...

Agent Elvis is definitely entertaining, with some dull moments here and there. Oftentimes these storylines have extra characters who don’t have much going for them in the first place, and thus these moments feel cumbersome and unnecessary to watch. These moments are clearly not given much to work with, and neither are the characters associated with said scenes. Other than the insane storyline, the animation is striking and will further pull viewers to the show. Thus, if you’re well versed with Archer, the new adult animated comedy is going to be easy to settle into. Walking into the episodes themselves, your thoughts wouldn’t be incorrect in any way – the show is everything that adult animated show fans have been waiting for.
