A NEW idea being trialled this year at the Trim parade is the 'sensory street' where the noise of the parade will be less with no horns or whistles blown.

Chief Organiser Jimmy Ryan said: “Don’t be scared to dress up on the day, wear as much green outfits, hats, flags, costumes as you like, the more the better. The route continues up Patrick Street, onto Emmet Street, Market Street and finishing at Castle Street. Bands will not play and cars and cars and lorries will not blow their horns.

There will also be a carnival atmosphere at Flanagans Lane (on the parade route) on St. Patrick's Day will start from The Plan at 2pm and will follow the ususal route through the town. Patrick's Day in the Market Yard last year but no parade, so the news of its return to the streets of the town will be greatly welcomed by young and old alike. Following the formation of this first shed in Ireland, the shed movement began to grow rapidly.
