With Dysart Dynamo in there, the three of these are going to go hard and there’s no way the three of them are going to keep going and I think Saint Roi will come and pick up the pieces.” Facile Vega had looked well placed but just couldn’t quite kick on up the final straight. “Unbelievable,” O’Sullivan says to ITV. “I put my neck above the parapet about six months ago when I said this horse was a weapon,” trainer Barry Connell says. Day one was a memorable one for Irish horses, trainers and jockeys, in particularly Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore.
Runners are on their way to post for the penulitmate race. Honeysuckle and Love Envoi jumped the last upsides but Honeysuckle was not to be denied. Once O'Sullivan got a hold of him at the back of the last he had a very willing partner and they powered up the hill to win in a thrilling finish. That left the race in the lap of Chemical Energy who took the lead. He jumped the last a few lengths down but stayed in strongly to win cosy at the line. El Fabiolo got the dream run up the rail turning in and was not to bet in the Arkle. Corach Rambler got back to winnings ways, winning back-to-back renewals of the Ultima. After Mahler Mission departed at the second last, Mullins was left with Chemical Energy to catch. Without doubt the highlight of the day was Honeysuckle going out in style winning the Mares' Hurdle with her partner Rachael Blackmore. Constitution Hill gave odds on backers very little moments of doubt throughout the race and ran out an impressive winner. Proceedings got underway with the Barry Connell trained runner Marine National sparkling in the Supreme giving Michael O'Sullivan his first Festival winner and he did not have to wait long to get his second the board.

It's the only race in the Cheltenham Festival to not run on the main Cheltenham racecourse. Hello and welcome to Sportsmail's live blog for day two of the Cheltenham Festival. The Queen Mother Champion Chase is regarded as the most prestigious two-mile chase in Britain and Ireland. He disappointed in the Savills Chase but the prospect of better ground on the X-Country course should suit. I was impressed with him and he looks a value bet in the Brown Advisory contest. This season’s Paul Nicholls-trained winner Hermes Alle n looks well up to that standard and he can prove that in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle. It was a performance that told you this six-year-old gelding had the talent to win at the biggest festival of all. Last season, Sir Gerhard was an impressive winner of the Ballymore and he made a winning debut over fences. It was great to finally get a Champion Chase last year and I think in the Clarence House he just needed the run over those different style of fences. This is my first ride at the Festival and it's all a bit surreal.' It is a teaming up of the generations. The ground then was good to soft in places and with rain expected every day between now and Friday.

She puts her head down, ears back and she just wants it. I just about had it in her. Spanish Harlem is near the back as the halfway marker arrives and looks to be struggling. Imagine is well placed too on the outside. This is going to be a heated finish. He ups the pace and storms to victory!

Camprond had a handy lead turning into the straight but a slow jump at the last gave Langer Dan and An Epic Song a chance. The writing was on the wall along way from home as Energumene jumped his way to the front three out and never came out of fourth gear. He travelled strongly through the race and once he hit the front the only danger was the fences ahead of him. Once he got safely over that fence there was little doubt in the result. It was a fairytale success for the de Bromhead family after everything they have went through in the past few months. I like the Gordon Elliot trained representative, Gerri Colombe who is 11/8 with After a series of bad runs over fences he returned to hurdle in the new year. He has had a smooth run up to the race hitting every intended target along the way. It is a race Gordon Elliot has farmer over the past few years and while there will be no points for originality here, I like one of his. Blood Destiny has made no mistake winning his two races for Mullins and looks to maintain that unbeaten record. The handicapper has not taken any chances and given him eight pounds for that run so will have to improve again, but he the potential to do so. He looks to have regressed this year and a few jumping mistakes have been creeping in. While there may not be a horse up to that level in this years renewal, former Champion Hurdle runner Sharjah heads the weights.
