Plus: Chelseas owners dont see Romelu Lukaku as part of their ongoing project; Manchester United could pursue Napoli defender Kim Min-jae; Sir Jim Ratcliffe ...

Patrick Vieira says he is hopeful that Wilfried Zaha will stay at Crystal Palace despite the winger having yet to sign a new contract with the club. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are expected to hold first meetings with Manchester United over the next fortnight regarding their respective bids to buy the club. The cost of the DP World Tour's legal battle with LIV Golf has spiralled to a staggering £5m as both sides wait for the ruling in a bitter arbitration case. The West Ham United shareholder, Daniel Kretinsky, is not expected to make any immediate move for a full takeover of the club despite a windfall tax clause expiring next week. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is refusing to match Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani's promise to wipe the debt from Manchester United's accounts. football.london's live coverage of Chelsea vs Leeds United in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge as Graham Potter's side look to alleviate pressure on ...

[Chelsea](https://www.football.london/all-about/chelsea) in the best position to turn around their dismal form. The Blues have won just two of their last 15 matches in the top flight and are closer to the relegation zone (ten points) to the Champions League places (14 points). Sterling leads a Chelsea counter and slips the ball through to Havertz. However, there's no sign of former Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford. [expressed an interest](https://www.football.london/all-about/chelsea-transfer-rumours) in signing highly-rated young midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer after a breakthrough campaign at St Mary's. They face a relegation-threatened Leeds side with new manager Javi Gracia taking charge of his second Premier League game, fresh off a crucial win over Southampton at the bottom of the table. Performance did drop in the last ten. Graham Potter faced the media at Chelsea's training base in Cobham yesterday afternoon ahead of the visit of Leeds United to Stamford Bridge. With no wins in their last six games in all competitions, the pressure continues to mount on the Blues boss. First Chelsea chance of the afternoon is via the head of Wesley Fofana, who heads a Ben Chilwell corner over the crossbar. Chelsea inches away as Sterling cuts the ball back to Felix on the edge of the box and the Portuguese star rattles the crossbar with a thumping drive. Half-chance for Leeds as a shot from Brenden Aaronson loops into the air and into the arms of Kepa.

Potter puzzle: Arteta shows virtues of patience but how long do ... (The Guardian)

After once looking doomed, Mikel Arteta is leading Arsenal towards the title but Potter offers no guarantee of following suit.

There comes a point when the doubts become overwhelming and, unless Chelsea see a dramatic improvement in results and performances soon, it will be impossible for them not to accept that Potter does not belong in the same company as Klopp and Arteta. One of the main themes in All or Nothing was Arteta deciding that Aubameyang was a negative influence on Arsenal’s youngsters and forcing the striker out. The German inherited an average squad but his first season featured wins at Chelsea and City, a comeback against Dortmund and a run to the Europa League final. Even so, his suggestion that this is the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was discarded even though Chelsea cannot score, and was not on the bench for three league games. Although Potter has not lost the players, the owners have became aware it would not be easy to maintain their support of him if there is no improvement in results and performances in the next two games. Roman Abramovich never would have taken the 47-year-old from Brighton but Boehly and Clearlake were attracted by his coaching acumen, calmness and ability to work in a collegiate manner. The owners have given Potter a huge, bloated squad and he is having to make difficult selection decisions every week. They admire how Arsenal treated Arteta and it is easy to see where Potter was coming from after his side’s [2-0 defeat to Tottenham](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/feb/26/tottenham-chelsea-premier-league-match-report) last Sunday. He has cited injuries, the World Cup interrupting his training schedule and a host of young signings needing time to settle. But we can also acknowledge that there would have been little uproar if they had lost their nerve with Arteta and, much as Chelsea are trying to give Graham Potter time to grow into his role, there comes a point when clubs must accept the glorious future they are waiting for is taking too long to arrive. [want to find out](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/feb/27/chelsea-plan-to-stand-by-graham-potter-even-if-they-lose-to-leeds-and-dortmund).

Recalling Leeds' last win at Chelsea: McPhail, Leboeuf & a minor ... (PlanetFootball)

It's been over two decades since Leeds United were last victorious at Stamford Bridge. We couldn't help but fondly remember the importance of their 2-0 win ...

Chelsea had lost their heads and Leeds sensed their opportunity to strike while the iron was hot. While they didn’t go on to win the title, these three points proved to be vital in the end. Chelsea sunk to fifth place and the rest is history – although a six-point swing would have seen them finish above O’Leary’s young side. The Yorkshire club had to settle for a fourth-placed finish and a spot in the UEFA Cup instead. A fresh chapter to the rivalry between Leeds and Chelsea had been brewing for quite some time when their clash in 1999 came around. Fast forward to December 1999 and Leeds were after some revenge.

Bizarre reason CELERY is banned from Stamford Bridge as ... (The Irish Sun)

THERE are of course a huge number of items that fans are banned from bringing into football grounds. But your casual footie fan might not know that CEL.

And the reason it became banned? After the game, Chelsea released a club statement reminding fans it was a CRIMINAL OFFENCE to throw celery from the terraces. In 2013 the UK GOVERNMENT even warned fans not to take celery to a European game against Sparta Prague, alongside "drinks, poles, flares and weapons". Because fans used to smuggle it into the ground and lob onto the pitch, and occasionally at opposition players. However Chelsea fans tweaked the song, to give it a cheeky, sexy vibe. Blues fans' love for the plant dates back to the 1980s - and it has nothing to do with the high levels of vitamin C it contains.

Arsenal and Chelsea coping with key injuries before Continental ... (The Guardian)

Both sides have lost crucial attackers but Emma Hayes's team are firm favourites going into Sunday's game at Selhurst Park.

It should perhaps have been no surprise that Hayes reportedly attempted to poach Katie McCabe from Arsenal in the January window, a versatile player known for her spirit. This dressing room works as hard as it’s ever done, whether it’s on the details in the lead up to the game, in the classroom and on the grass, in restarts, in transition, in attacking, in defending. I knew every one of them was in complete control of how we were going to manage that last part of the game. Hayes says: “As I’ve mentioned many times, the quality of the people in my dressing room means you have a great chance of doing that. The centre-back Kadeisha Buchanan, recruited from Lyon in the summer, has yet to look consistently comfortable partnering Millie Bright. It would be easy to get lost in the narrative that Arsenal are without their forwards Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema, failed to add suitable back-up in January and that Chelsea are an unstoppable machine.
