It's obvious Arsenal are missing their star strikers Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema, but Swedish international Blackstenius is looking to prove herself in the squad. Made her mark in the game from the get go with a foul on Catley then an assist for Sophie Ingle's goal. Coming back to club football after making her international debut for England in the Arnold Clark Cup, her confidence seethed onto the pitch for Chelsea. The Rooks will not be the only Championship side in the last eight, as Birmingham City came through an all-second-tier battle with Charlton Athletic with a 1-0 victory in extra-time. It took Mason just five minutes to open the scoring, before she doubled her tally just before the half hour, only for Ingrid Adland to half the deficit for the only FA Women’s National League side in the last 16. But Mason responded with her hat-trick coming just after the hour, before the Northern Ireland international added a fourth with 15 minutes to play, with Kenzie Weir and Aqsa Mushtaq added late on. They will be joined by last season’s runners-up Manchester City as they eased past Barclays Women’s Championship side Bristol City 8-1, while Barclays Women’s Super League leaders Manchester United will also be in the draw thanks to a 5-0 win over second-tier Durham. The result sends Emma Hayes’ side through to the quarter-finals for the ninth-consecutive season as they chase a third title in a row. Ingle opened the scoring midway through the first half with a sublime side-footed finish just inside the box, before Kerr doubled the lead with a calm finish after latching onto Jelena Cankovic’s through ball.

The Chelsea goalkeeper leaps to palm it away. That feels like the end of Arsenal's chances of creating a tense finish. It wasn't a sparkling performance from the hosts, who were helped by Arsenal's wastefulness. Our rest defence wasn't good in the first half. I thought the game would be won and lost in transitions. "But tactically they carried out everything I asked from them. That was intentional." look at the players out there. We work on that all the time, in the classroom and on the pitch. And while Arsenal kept their high pressing to make things difficult for the Blues, they did not have the quality to turn it into proper goalscoring chances. Another poor display at the back has cost Arsenal their place in the FA Cup — it is becoming a worrying theme.
We give the ball away all the time in all sorts of positions. “We played City at home (Conti Cup), clean sheet. Arsenal pulled through in the end but they were not the better team. Since the start of the year, Jonas Eidevall’s team have lost one and drawn two of their three WSL games, scoring just two goals. Chelsea's next game is again at home to Arsenal, with this meeting coming in the Conti Cup on Sunday; kick-off 3pm. "I think we saw today an Arsenal side that moves the ball well and plays well out of pressure. "Even more frustrating is that all the components were there for an Arsenal win. The games I saw when I prepared before I came [to Arsenal], Chelsea were very dominant in some of those games and were very effective in the way they pressed Arsenal high. "It is about creating the environment in putting players in those situations in training so they can make it a habit and not overthink it. "Since the closure of the window, there have been moments where it's hamstrung Arsenal. These are players that know they can score a lot of goals so it's easier to keep that belief. "[At half time] we needed to solve some things defensively in the middle phases, which we did. In the second half, I was happy to sit in a low block. Our football expert is backing a win for Manchester United against West Ham, as we preview the FA Cup Fifth Round action.
The hosts should at least find the net and The Hammers are showing some better form of late, losing only one of their last six games (W3 D2), but there's not many harder places to go than Old Trafford right now. Bristol City are unbeaten in twelve after their win at home to Hull (W6 D6), but we have to assume that run will end on Tuesday. League One's Fleetwood are unbeaten in six themselves (W5 D1), but this should be too tough a test for them. League Two's Grimsby, have already pulled off a minor shock by beating Luton and both teams to score is 1.9620/21. Fresh from winning the League Cup, Manchester United will expect to make progress towards another Wembley date, when they host West Ham. Fulham are likely to present a sterner test, with the Londoners unbeaten in six following their draw with Wolves (W3 D3).
