[Wrestling Inc](https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1203109/backstage-news-on-original-plans-for-sami-zayn-at-wwe-elimination-chamber/)), original plans—which Meltzer claims have since changed–called for Jey Uso to betray Zayn, leading to a tag team showdown pitting Zayn and Owens against The Usos at WrestleMania. Despite a potential Zayn victory being scripted as the biggest upset in WWE history, Sami Zayn has emerged as enough of a ratings draw in recent months to make his Cinderella Story a real possibility. Through the strength of The Bloodline storyline, it was Jey Uso, not Zayn, who drew the biggest quarter-hour rating. Not only did fans accept Cody Rhodes as a top star, they embraced him—even when WWE dared to put the pair in the same ring together this past Monday on Raw. With goodwill restored between WWE and its fanbase during the Triple H Era, there were zero instances of fans hijacking WWE storylines. The Bell Centre was just as hostile toward Roman Reigns as they were raucous for Sami Zayn.
Ring announcer Samatha Irvin introduced the entrants for the women's Elimination Chamber match. Asuka came out first followed by Carmella, Raquel Rodriguez, and ...
Reigns went for a Superman Punch that Zayn avoided and ended up hitting the referee instead. Zayn went to the corner and then did Roman’s locked and loaded pose before hitting him with a Superman Punch. Reigns barked at Zayn and then threw him to the ground. They got to their feet and Zayn threw punches at Reigns and then ran the ropes and knocked him down. The bell rang and then Zayn smiled and jawed at a stone-faced Reigns from across the ring. Theory eventually stood up and then Ford performed a flip dive onto him and then ran back and hit a flip dive onto Rollins on the other side of the ring. Zayn fired chips at Reigns and then ran the ropes, but Reigns dropped him with another uppercut. Back inside the ring, Zayn threw a punch at Reigns, who no-sold it, and then dropped Zayn with a punch. Gargano entered the ring and then hopped over the ropes and spiked Theory with a DDT on the way down. The fourth entrant was Damian Priest, who put Gargano down with a big boot and then worked over Rollins with kicks and a punch. Edge returned to the ring and went for a spear, but Balor beat him to the punch with a sling blade clothesline. Lesnar started to fade and then came back to life and tried to power out of the hold.

The Road to WrestleMania will continue with the "Tribal Chief" ruling as king. Sami Zayn came within a fraction of a second of ending Roman Reigns' dominant run ...
Reigns snatches the chair back and starts to mush Uso in the face. Reigns charges across the ring for the Superman Punch but Zayn catches him in midair and delivers an exploder suplex. KO puts Uso threw a table with a popup powerbomb and then leaves a groggy Reigns for Zayn to destroy with a Helluva Kick! Ford just delivered a front-forward flip on Theory on one side of the ring and another onto Rollins on the opposite side. Reigns stands in the middle of Uso and Zayn now. The moment Montreal and the WWE Universe has been waiting for is finally here, as Sami Zayn will look to end Roman Reigns' dominance and take the "Tribal Chief's" Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the same time. Just when it looked like Reigns was taking a stand against Zayn's momentum, the champ misses a spear attempt and goes headfirst through the barricade. Kevin Owens would save Zayn from post-match punishment, laying waste to both Reigns and Jimmy Uso in the process. Reigns, with the chair in hand, is about to blast Zayn. He spears Roman Reigns and drops the champ with a Stunner. Wanting to test Jey's loyalty to The Bloodline, Reigns handed him the chair. Reigns will now advance to WrestleMania in April to clash with Cody Rhodes, the winner of the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Here is a quick rundown of the results from the show: Asuka won the women's Elimination Chamber match. Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar by disqualification.
This was a series of moments that meshed together to create a cohesive story, and they had the crowd eating out of the palms of their hands. Kevin Owens came out to prevent his friend from taking any more damage once the bout was over, so the crowd was still given a reason to go home happy even if we didn't see a title change. This bout was the epitome of the phrase "Big fight feel." The Tribal Chief unloaded on his former ally with a chair before pinning him to retain the title. It could turn into a Triple Threat, but we will have to see how WWE addresses this in the coming weeks. The Tribal Chief was his usual confident self, and that made Zayn's natural underdog quality stand out even more. Whether you like him or not, it's hard to deny how good Paul has proved to be at the entertainment side of this business. It was the first time since The Yes Movement that something felt so organic. The Beast then proceeded to destroy the ringside area and take out the ref before leaving. She easily had the most dominant run in a match that included a few great performances. After years of stop-start booking, it finally feels like WWE has figured out how to use Asuka to her fullest potential. Ever since she returned during the Royal Rumble, Asuka has been working on a different level.
