Marvel star Jonathan Majors recently filmed fight scenes with Paul Rudd in 'Quantumania' and Michael B. Jordan in the upcoming 'Creed III'

In that moment, that’s how he views it – and time is a metaphor in many ways. In that moment, time is a cage [for Kang]. During the film, Kang refers to time as being like “a cage”. Kang’s past is shrouded in mystery, though it is strongly hinted that he is responsible for the deaths of millions of people throughout different universes. “[Kang’s secret] is personal but it’s not intimate – [it’s about his] relationship to time,” explained Majors. In Creed III, he faces off against Jordan’s champion boxer Adonis in the ring.

Jonathan Majors stars in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” as supervillain Kang the Conqueror, continuing a legacy of Black actors in iconic MCU roles.

Would Majors ever consider putting an “S” on his chest? Reed says he’s seen everything Majors has starred in and was particularly blown away by his performance in the 2017 film “Hostiles” alongside another MCU star, [Christian Bale](https://www.washingtonpost.com/comics/2022/07/07/christian-bale-gorr-thor-love-thunder/?itid=lk_inline_manual_33). And if you can’t match that, he will push you off the screen and push you out the scene,” Majors says. “I wanted someone who had a very different energy than Paul Rudd as Ant-Man,” Reed adds. Majors first appeared as a variant of the character, named He Who Remains, in an episode of the Disney Plus series “Loki” starring Tom Hiddleston as Thor’s reluctant adoptive-brother-turned-time-cop. The trilogy takes Rudd, an actor who sharpened his comedic chops in such films as “Anchorman,” and slaps a superhero suit on the hilarity. “Christian Bale is sitting there having his last words with him and its really Christian Bale’s scene but you cannot take your eyes off of the guy lying there dying in bed, and it was Jonathan. The character first appeared in the pages of Marvel Comics in “Fantastic Four” No. 8 the following year, taking on the team of superheroes in his trademark high-tech, green-and-purple suit that Majors wears in “Quantumania.” Kang, who is White in the comics, was created by Marvel Comics legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. That’s the fun part.” “And I differentiate, because we live in America and it’s a very different conversation being a person of color versus being an African American. “We’ve not had a big bad of color let alone an African American,” he adds.

WARNING: Some spoilers ahead for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”. Jonathan Majors makes his official debut as Marvel mainstay villain Kang the Conqueror ...

There’s a great deal that’s for and from me, and for and from the MCU team and family. “The level of the level of difficulty is high, and the character is quite high profile. And there is a good deal of it, that is from them and for them. Now of course, Majors is very aware of the fact that Kang, in all his forms, is a legacy villain in the Marvel universe. And for him, playing one character in a bunch of different ways all at once is a lot of fun; but he knows that it could also be “a nightmare.” By the end of the film, we’ve “met” roughly five Kangs, and seen a few hundred.

It was at the height of the pandemic and he was sequestered in an apartment in Santa Fe, New Mexico, fielding queries from the press about his soon-to-be-out Lovecraft Country, the HBO sci-fi horror series produced by JJ Abrams and Jordan Peele (neither he met on the set, oddly enough).
