King, the tennis icon from the 1970s, visited Seton Hall University for a panel on the future of women's sports.

When asked about ways the average person could help grow sports for girls and women, King told me this: “Show up. To do that, King insisted that organizations continue to think outside the box and consider things like coed leagues in collegiate play. Almost every time a person spoke up and asked a question, King would quip back without hesitation: “Well, what do you think?” The pair talked about the experiences they've endured throughout their careers, and, after a brief discussion with Jane McManus, the center’s executive director and a longtime sports columnist, they opened to questions from the audience. “I think this is an amazing opportunity to hear from all kinds of people from every walk of life and to learn.” “I think it’s vital,” King said of the discussion.
