In 2000, John and Nora became the legal guardians of Ari's twin teenaged boys, who came to live with them after being raised in Jamaica, where their mother was based. Sadly, Ariane passed away in 2010 after a "serious illness," according to a message on her stepfather's website at the time. "I was in a coma for seven months and when I woke I’d lost my memory. John's mother is from Cork, while his father is from Galway, and was also musical, having played accordion in Irish show bands. He grew up in Holloway, North London as the oldest child of three brothers. John is the primary caregiver for his wife, and his Eurovision song is a sample of his love and respect for his wife. She can go back 20 years and remember in the greatest detail with complete accuracy. "Sometimes her memory is lethal. John was at the helm of The Sex Pistols as the lead singer from 1975 to 1978, and again for various revivals during the 1990s and 2000s. John married the love of his life Nora Maier Forster, a German publishing heiress, in 1979, and the couple have enjoyed almost 45 years of married life together. His mother passed away due to cancer while John was in his 20s, and his father passed away suddenly in 2008. While he has found international fame, his Irish roots run deep, and we're looking back on the creative's life in and out of the limelight.
