IRELAND is set for a major temperature drop next week as a "cooler" airmass is expected to move over the country.Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly said I.

Highst temperatures during the day will fall between 9C and 10C over Ulster and Connacht, and between 11C and 12C over Munster and Leinster. Friday will be a cloudy day with patches of light rain and drizzle, mainly in the west with the sun breaking through occasionally further east. It will be a frost-free night with relatively mild lowest temperatures of 7C to 9C. Lowest temperatures will fall between 4C to 9C, anticipated to be coldest in the southeast. It will be dry, though patchy light or drizzle will become persistent in the northwest later in the day. There will be a few sunny spells mixed in, with highest temperatures falling between 7C to 10C.
