No rest for Meath Mum planning to run 48hrs non stop (LMFM)

Kilmessan nurse and ultra runner Nichola Duffy is planning to run non stop for two days straight starting on March 10th to raise funds for Beaumount ...

Speaking to Sinรฉad on 11-1 this week Nichola says she plans on doing the race without stopping for a sleep or to rest and as she is no stranger to endurance racing she is confident she can keep running for the entire 48 hour period. She also took on the Barcelona Ultra Marathon running a whopping 201.8 km over 504 laps in a 24-hour event coming in second overall, and she ran the equivalent of three Dublin City Marathons a few years ago to raise funds for the Millbury nursing home in Navan during the covid-19 crisis. In March 2022 Nichola's mother sadly passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer, Nichola wanted to do something positive in her memory and so she is taking on the gruelling 48 hour Youth sport Omagh race Ireland's only 48 hour endurance race and she hopes to raise funds for Beaumount hospital who provided such great care for her mother Joan.
