Extraordinary: Never mind the, er, misfiring IRA gags. Watch it for ... (The Irish Times)

Television: Emma Moran's London-set Disney+ comedy needs to work on its gags, but the young Irish actor's performance makes it worth your time.

The twist is that she is also useless at technology, in trowelled-on โ€œIrish mammyโ€ fashion. This was, of course, also the plot of Given her background, we must assume the IRA gag is a pithy commentary on British stereotypes of Irish people. Extraordinary is written by the 28-year-old Northern Ireland writer Emma Moran (who previously wrote for Have I Got News for You, the BBC panel show). Trust me, it makes no more sense in the context of the episode.
