A late Conor Ferris save was vital for the Dublin giants.

Dublin kingpins Kilmacud Crokes have beaten Derry champions Glen in the All-Ireland club football final. Read back on how the action unfolded.
60 mins Shane Horan is hauled back and Kilmacud have the chance to get an insurance point here. The ball drops to him ten yards out, he sidefoots it along the ground but Conor Ferris makes a superb fingertip save at full stretch. Kilmacud survived the scare and seconds later, the referee blew for full-time. Last year his error in the decider against Kilcoo led to them snatching a dramatic winning goal. I'm so, so delighted for him." -
Glen stationed Ryan Dougan on Mannion, while Michael Warnock was shadowing Galway star Walsh. The outcomes there would have pleased Glen with both players being ...

Kilmacud had attacking leadership provided by man-of-the-match Dara Mullin and Shane Cunningham, both weighed in with quality points. Kilmacud drew level with a pair of points as the action ebbed and flowed, Glen countered by going two clear. Then Glen began to weave together some sparkling passages of play as they notched four points on the spin – Tallon with two, Alex and Jack Doherty with one apiece. Glen were flying early on, accelerating 1-3 to 0-1 clear by the end of the first quarter. Warnock gathered the break, offloaded to Jack Doherty and he countered to deposit a kickpass in the direction of Danny Tallon. Kilmacud were left to celebrate the club’s third All-Ireland title, the class of 2023 joining their predecessors in 1995 and 2009. The match had barely settled after throw-in when Walsh attempted to hop the ball but spilled possession. That was the end of Glen’s chance of a national breakthrough. Glen stationed Ryan Dougan on Mannion, while Michael Warnock was shadowing Galway star Walsh. He had little time to think, drew a right foot at the ball but Kilmacud goalkeeper Conor Ferris, who coughed up possession 12 months ago at a critical stage, tipped the ball around the post brilliantly. Kilmacud were wounded in a devastating fashion last February when Kilcoo pounced for that dramatic winning goal.
The slightest margins make all the difference. Almost 12 months ago, Kilmacud Crokes endured the misery of conceding a last-gasp goal to Kilcoo at the Hill ...
Subs: S O'Hara for Convery (37), P Gunning for A Doherty (58), KILMACUD CROKES - C Ferris; D O'Brien, T Clancy, M Mullin; C O'Shea, R O'Carroll, A McGowan; B Shovlin, C Dias; A Jones, S Walsh, D Mullin; P Mannion, S Cunningham, H Kenny. Jack Doherty also troubled Rory O'Carroll, a rock for Crokes up to that. Almost 12 months ago, Kilmacud Crokes endured the misery of conceding a last-gasp goal to Kilcoo at the Hill 16 end for an agonising defeat in the All-Ireland club football final. From there, Crokes were tentative and, unlike previous games, left gaps in defence, which Glen were quick to exploit, Alex Doherty adding a third-minute point. Glen retreated into their shell, but in attack, Crokes were more composed and patient, even if shots falling short and wides added up.
Dublin star Paul Mannion is a surprise inclusion in the Kilmacud Crokes team to face Watty Grahams GAC Glen this afternoon. Bookies are quoting the Dublin.
Glen aren't exactly rank outsiders but the bookies are quoting odds of 2/1. Obviously we are looking at Kilmacud Crokes, and the strengths that they have, trying to nullify those. But really we are trying to get our own game in order and trying to put our best foot forward.
Shane Walsh's Kilmacud Crokes were pushed all the way but take Andy Merrigan home.
Glen 1-9 Kilmacud Crokes 1-9 What a save from Ferris!!! Kilmacud Crokes 1-10 Glen 1-9 Kilmacud's top scorer for the championship, a Dublin championship, a Leinster championship and now an Andy Merrigan Cup. Kilmacud Crokes 1-11 Glen 1-9 A fairytale for Walsh.
Goalkeeper Conor Ferris sprung to his right to deny Conor Glass from a low rolled effort as they thwarted a late goal chance that could have denied them for ...
Glen turned it around in the second half in front of a crowd of 22,890, as they got on top of the Kilmacud kickout. Ethan Doherty had a couple chances to hurt the Leinster champions on the break, but the ball was turned over as Glen lived on scraps in the final 20 minutes of the first half. Two minutes later Alex Doherty fired over for a four point lead, but it would turn out Glen needed that early start as Kilmacud dominated the rest of the half. Glen had got off to a flyer with Danny Tallon dummying Micheál Mullin and holding off a retreating back to fire to the net in the first attack. For Glen it was heartbreak in their first final and they will have regrets over a couple of second half goal chances that went a begging as Crokes won a third All-Ireland title to go with the titles in 1995 and 2009. A couple of points from the goal chances would have kept Glen right in the hunt.
Kilmacud Crokes survived a tumultuous climax with their lead intact to win the All-Ireland football title for the third time. These are the bare details but in ...
“We took a bit of strength from that as it went on through the weeks and months, as the championship started building. It should have broken us as a group and management but it didn’t. It would require Glen to register an objection – which their manager Malachy O’Rourke ruled out on a personal basis, while not speaking for the club. By coincidence he had stopped a late attempt at goal in similar circumstances at the end of the semi-final win over Kerins O’Rahilly’s. He was standing on the line after officially being substituted by Tom Fox just before the kick was taken. Further controversy ensued after the resulting 45 had dropped for Conleth McGuckian and his shot whistled narrowly wide and the match ended.
Conor Ferris had just denied Conor Glass with a sensational injury-time save and, as the ball went out for a 45, it meant that the Derry side had one last ...
It has since emerged that Dara Mullin remained on the pitch for that last play. He had noticed at the time, however, that Crokes had an extra player on the pitch and did ask for the 45 to be retaken. Conor Casey was the next man in, and he replaced Paul Mannion.
Kilmacud Crokes won a first All-Ireland since 2009, but it appears as though there may have been some controversy around the closing moments in the game.
That 45 should have been retaken when the ref knew the second man hadn’t gone off. Outrageous cheating from Crokes and total shabbiness from the referee. [January 22, 2023] It was an excellent game between two very good sides, one that genuinely could have went either way.
