Estrada, the WBA world titleholder at 105 pounds, has a unification fight against WBC titleholder Tina Rupprecht on March 25 in Fresno. Serrano is rumored to face undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor later this year in a rematch of their epic fight on April 30. A fight between Lopez and contender Arnold Barboza could also be in play as Barboza is also promoted by Top Rank. The IBF world titleholder is Sivenathi Nothshinga, who won the title in his last bout on September 3. And every year, it is written in the hopes it is the last time this fight tops the list. This fight was scheduled to take place on February 3 in Glendale, Arizona, but Valdez had to withdraw from the fight due to an injury during training camp. Munguia might have a fight lined up in a few months against Shane Mosley, per rumors, but there is no reason why Munguia would not face Golovkin, who is still the unified middleweight titleholder after losing to Alvarez on September 17. Munguia was offered a fight against Golovkin, but the Nevada Athletic Commission did not approve of the fight. A fight between either Lopez and Ramirez against newly-crowned WBC world junior welterweight titleholder Regis Prograis is not happening anytime soon, due to promotional and network ties. This fight had been in the works since the spring of 2018. The winner of this all-Russia matchup would be the undisputed champion at 175 pounds. Fans are optimistic fights between the best fighters in the division can take place, despite network deals and ties to promoters.
GRAINNE Walsh had one of the biggest wins of her boxing career when she captured a national title in sensational circumstances on Saturday last.
Another St Carthage's and Pullough boxer, Nicole Buckley completed a memorable weekend for Offaly boxers as she captured the 48kg womens class. Pullough man Paul Loonam had a fantastic win in the very competitive mens 57kg class. Dundalk woman Broadhurst rattled Walsh on a couple of occasions as she found a way through her defence.
It was a glorious day for Offaly boxing yesterday as three fighters from the county were crowned National Elite Champions at the National Boxing Stadium.

"I knew Kelsey from when she was younger and she's a really good girl. "There's more to life than boxing and I realise that. She'd been performing well over the last few months so I knew it was going to be a tough fight, but I'm one of the best in the world at my weight and I wasn't letting anyone stand in my way tonight. "Everyone asks where the favourite place is that I've boxed and I always say the National Stadium as I think it brings out a different side of me," she said. "I'm not going to stop until I've achieved them all, but if I had to walk away now I'd be very proud and anything I achieve now is a bonus. Walsh believes the past 12 months have been the best of her career, and says taking a new approach to her boxing career is reaping reward.
The WBC won't necessarily sanction a new championship or title belt – primarily they want to create an event so transgender fighters can take part in the sport.

Rock Steady Boxing is a program designed in 2006 by a Parkinson's Disease sufferer for those fighting the disease. To date they have trained more than 50000 ...
In the past year, I have been attending training sessions at the New York Fitness and Boxing Gym twice and now three times a week. You see, I am not only fighting for myself, but sharing my experience—which has effectively kept the symptoms status quo, and in some regards improving—to inspire others diagnosed with or supporting loved ones with Parkinson’s Disease. Armed with that knowledge, I decided to be all in with my personal fight against PD. Someone who I didn’t know at the time said, “Can I ask you a personal question?” Giving the okay, he asked, “Do you have Parkinson’s?” “Why?”, I asked. As much as I didn’t want to learn about Parkinson’s potential devastation, I became knowledgeable enough to know I had to find a way to combat it. “You have the same symptoms I had when I got Parkinson’s.” He told me my movements, including the tremors, were affecting my walking gait and overall mobility on my right side.
His life story motivates athletes in East Africa to recognise the value of showboating and personal branding in standing out and achieving success.
I would say Mandonga demonstrates well how showboating and personal branding can be just as significant as talent in the athletic world. Mandonga has shown that alternative sports may succeed even in a nation where football is the dominant sport. That has increased the excitement of his fights and drawn attention to the sport in East Africa. Mandonga has proved that showboating can be an effective strategy for popularising and sparking interest in a sport. However, with the emergence of Karim Mandonga ‘Mtu Kazi,’ I find myself tuning in to his fights and keeping up with what is happening. His showboating made headlines in Tanzania and Kenya.
The National Stadium hosted over 25 finals in the Irish boxing Championships on Saturday night.

The main thing now will be the Olympic qualifiers and hopefully the World Championships. Limping to a neutral corner, the referee called a time out while the 21-year-old was examined. I was a bit sore. She is currently on a Paris Olympic Scholarship from the Olympic Federation of Ireland. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but I want to get back into a place where I am respected. “Then, and this is completely under the radar, four weeks ago I had surgery on my baby toe because I dropped a dumbbell on it. “I’ve been on a roller coaster of a journey the last three years,” said Walsh afterwards. Prior to the championships Walsh had been seriously curtailed with injury, while in 2022 Broadhurst remained unbeaten at World, European and Commonwealth level.
The world and European light-welterweight gold medallist lost the welterweight final after moving up in weight.
But Walsh ended the round strongly and on the counter attack connected with a powerful right which knocked Broadhurst onto the ropes in the final round. Broadhurst came out swinging in the second and caught Walsh with a right before following up with a number of combinations. Walsh blocked most of what Broadhurst threw at her in the first round before the Dundalk native began to find gaps in her defence.
