The iconic Dublin landmark was unveiled by Lord Mayor Caroline Conroy.

Commenting on the restoration project and exhibition, Ms Conroy said: "The Clerys building is an iconic Dublin landmark, and it is tremendous news for the city to see it restored to its full glory. "Particular credit is due to the skilled craftspeople who have worked so painstakingly to renovate the building and to the owners for their efforts in bringing new life to this important landmark which will bring new retail, hospitality, and employment opportunities to the area." The new "Clerys Quarter" is to be completed within weeks, with shops expected to open before the summer.

The closure of Clerys in 2015 saw around 460 people losing their jobs. Clerys shut down suddenly in the summer of 2015, with the loss of hundreds of jobs. The redevelopment of the building also involved the restoration of Clerys’ iconic features, including the collonaded façade, internal staircases, columns and ceilings.

Restored clock is unveiled on Tuesday ahead of retail early in the second quarter of the year.

Entry will be free. It is now due to open “early” in the second quarter of this year. The shock closure of Clerys in 2015 saw 130 Clerys employees and about 330 people working for concession holders lose their jobs. The remaining 2,787sq m (30,000 sq ft) has been chosen by Swedish fashion giant H&M as the location for its latest and largest store in Dublin city centre. [ Philip Stokes, horologist and owner of Stokes Clocks restored Clerys’ clock which he said was “very much the heart and the soul of Dublin”.
