Increase in Traffic collision incidents in Kerry last year (Radio Kerry)

That's according to figures presented by the Chief Superintendent of the Kerry Division, Padraic Powell, at the recent Joint Policing Committee meeting.

There were seven fatal traffic collisions in Kerry in 2022, a 17% increase on 2021 39 traffic collisions resulting in serious injuries were recorded in Kerry, a 3% drop year on year. There were 123 traffic collisions, non serious injury incidents, a 2% increase on 2021.

It has also now come to light that the family are under-insured by an estimated €75,000, leaving them even further devastated as they come to terms with the disaster that befell them. The fire came in through the roof of one of his daughter's bedrooms. I thought I could save the house. This forced them to flee outside in the middle of the night and watch as their Caragh Lake home burned, almost, to the ground. But, thankfully, everyone is alive and well.

“As I knew, it was very hard to shift a guy that’s in there and fit and uninjured and playing well. I got injured in the league last year, other guys came in and did very well and the team was performing well and winning, so then I was on the other side of that. He’s a huge man so if he’s out in front of you, chances are he’s winning that ball and most of the ball sticks to him inside. If you are uninjured, fit and doing well in the team, it’s very hard to shift a player. It was a welcome break from a hectic schedule, running from Kerry duty to club and East Kerry campaigns. Along with Aidan O’Mahony, he’s the last remaining playing link to the side that won a Kerry intermediate title in 1999 when he played outfield.
