Why Teams Are Queuing up to Sign Marcus Thuram (The Analyst)

Moving to a higher tempo league like the Bundesliga was a smart career move, and when healthy, he's been one of the better players in Germany during his time ...

Due to his higher centre of gravity, it can sometimes look a bit clumsy if he isn’t successful with the change of pace dribble. For a man at his height, Thuram’s combination of top-end speed and strength is impressive and it makes him a handful to contain for defenders. The end result is a tidy shot chart with a ton of attempts from the central zone. For one, he had some success earlier in his career in a league with less space (Ligue 1), particularly with his dribbling capacity. What helps him is once he gets a bit of separation, it’s hard to muscle him off the ball. Among players in the Bundesliga who have played in at least 25% of the available minutes, Thuram ranks fifth in shots per 90 minutes at 3.7, and first in non-penalty expected goals at 0.63. Players who are in their mid-20s and in the midst of a career year rarely have their contracts expire at the end of the season. He also has to be respected when drifting to wider positions since he can carry and beat opponents off the dribble. But that’s a major reason why Thuram has been highly talked about in recent days as major European clubs see him as a target either now for a cut-price transfer fee or when he becomes a free agent in the summer. When positioned centrally, he can play off the shoulder of central defenders and gesture for passes into the box against medium or high defensive lines. Re-signing does come with a bump up in wages and added security against the possibility of future injuries. He has long been a fascinating player dating back to his time in Ligue 1 with his unique skill set at roughly 6-foot-3.

Surprise! These 5 Central Indiana high school basketball teams ... (The Indianapolis Star)

Insider Kyle Neddenriep picks five Indianapolis-area boys basketball teams that have exceeded external expectations.

The Patriots (9-1) were a sectional champion two years ago and were 16-7 last year, falling to Metropolitan in the sectional championship. The emergence of a sophomore class led by Ben Slagley (11.3 ppg, 7.1 rebounds), Julius Gizzi (8.7 ppg, 4.0 rebounds) and Moses Haynes (2.8 ppg, 2.7 assists) has made a big difference. But there are some good role players around them, too, like junior Charles Farrell (5.6 ppg, 3.1 rebounds), senior Sam Bishop (5.1 ppg, 3.0 rebounds) and junior Armani Middlebrooks (4.7 ppg, 4.0 rebounds) to make this a dangerous team around sectional time. Lynch (2.4 ppg, 3.1 assists) and Brendan Lattimer (2.2 ppg, 3.4 rebounds). 3 in Class A and will likely be a significant favorite to win Sectional 58. 25) and potential sectional opponent Mt. The two players with experience — junior guard Trey Buchanan (15.4 ppg, 3.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 43% 3-point shooting) and 6-6 senior Alex Romack (14.8 ppg, 10.1 rebounds) — are clearly the leaders. Not only can you count on Catchings for at least one or two “did you see that!?” dunks per game, he is also shooting at a high rate (54% from the field, including 40% from 3). Center Grove (12-1) got 20 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the 3-point line from 6-2 junior Joey Schmitz in the win over Carmel and senior guard Ethan McComb led the way in Saturday’s game with 18 points. 7) and Brownsburg (Feb. The Bulldogs have a team that fits well around Catchings and senior Elhadj Diallo (15.6 ppg, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 steals) with players like juniors Grant Porath (9.8 ppg), Drew Thompson (3.9 ppg, 3.4 assists), Cam Reich (3.3 ppg), J.D. 28), Zionsville (Feb.

Mob programming benefits for Agile development teams | TechTarget (TechTarget)

Mob programming brings the whole team together for simultaneous code creation and review. If they specify roles and engage, Agile teams can benefit from mobbing ...

At the end of a 15-minute period, the person who is the driver commits the work to version control and hands the meeting host role to the next driver. The main issue is if the team is willing to slow down and explain. If the team doesn't fully support this new method, there's a high probability of a decrease in the overall amount of code written. Next, schedule a single one-hour meeting for the entire team -- ideally, three to nine people. If the entire team engages during meetings, mob programming produces working software that is great quality and structure while building shared knowledge among the team. At the same time, workers frustrated by a practice can demonstrate to their first-line supervisor what the issue is with the approach. Everyone on the team benefits from learning new techniques and practices from their colleagues. The pairs do not pick up new techniques as fast as when the whole team is involved, and they still have skill gaps. Mob programming takes pair programming further, where the entire team works on one piece of code together. With varying capabilities from one person to the next, teamwork can lead to one programmer The navigator tells the driver what to type. Enough programmers are apprehensive about the idea of a person over their shoulder that pair programming has struggled, unlike [continuous integration](https://www.techtarget.com/searchsoftwarequality/tip/Continuous-integration-principles-and-standards-to-implement) and other XP practices.

New CPS football alignment unveiled: Amundsen, 15 other Public ... (Chicago Sun-Times)

Next fall, Amundsen will move up to the highest level of Public League football when it debuts in the newly reconfigured Red North.

North Side Public League teams long have played in the shadow of South Side powers such as Simeon, Morgan Park, Kenwood and Phillips. But they have seven returning starters, decent numbers in the program — there were 29 freshmen in 2022 — and a motivated coach. Getting to the top tier of Public League football is the latest indicator of Amundsen’s rising stock. Next season, there will be three tiers — Red, White and Blue — with all 16 Red teams eligible for the state playoffs. Defending city champ Simeon, Morgan Park, Brooks and Perspectives will make up the Red South. Public League officials have overhauled the conference structure for the second consecutive season.

New pool at Mar Vista changes everything for aquatics teams (The San Diego Union-Tribune)

It would be hard to say who was happier to finally open the only pool on campus in the Sweetwater Union High School District, the players or Coach Kavanagh.

“Compared to the old pool, this one is huge. That means Mar Vista will be able to host the boys and girls swim meets at the same time. “It was really difficult for the freshmen who couldn’t drive. “A lot of times I thought the pool would never be completed in time for me to use it. Being last on the priority list, they would find themselves practicing from 7:30 to 9:30 in the evening once they got in the pool. “Once the school shut down for COVID, we never got back in the old pool,” said Kavanagh.

Trailblazing Bantry teams create more school history (Southern Star Newspaper)

Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí's junior rugby squad that has advanced to the Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup. Share this article.

What was once history-making is now becoming the norm, and that’s a testament to the ongoing work in Bantry rugby, both in the school and local club. There are four sets of brothers on the teams – Paddy and Michael O’Sullivan (both junior), Michael and Stephen O’Donovan (both senior), Kian (junior) and Alan Kelleher (senior), and Dan (junior) and Owen O'Neill (senior). That bit of success last year has created a stepping stone,’ Cawley said, as excitement builds in the school ahead of a busy month for the school’s rugby teams. ‘Last year we entered the juniors in the McCarthy C competition, and we played against C teams of Pres, Christians, in a blitz format, and we won that tournament. Tries from Joey O’Sullivan, Stephen O’Donovan, Oran Wiseman, Alan Kelleher, Fionn Barry and Stephen O’Donoghue, as well as four Dylan Hicks’ conversions, saw the Bantry school power past Clonmel, and into the Munster Schools Senior Cup. The majority of the school’s rugby players also line out with Bantry Bay.
