FA Cup third round: Chesterfield 3-3 West Brom, Blackpool 4-1 ... (The Guardian)

Blackpool and Burnley lead the way of upsets as West Brom snuff out shock result with late equaliser over Chesterfield.

“Hi from a native Sconnie (grew up in Green Bay - go Packers!),” says Peter Pearson. Nottingham Forest were having all the shots but Blackpool have silenced their growing momentum and double their lead! “It’s hard not to sound patronising, but beating us means a lot more to Chesterfield than beating them does to us.” Any West Brom fans out there agree? They are in their 73rd minutes so there is still time for West Brom to get back into it. A cruising victory for Brighton now. He rises above the rest from a corner to head home. But it’s another penalty for Ipswich and they are crusing. “The great Bratwurst debate,” Julian says. Brentford v West Ham, Coventry v Wrexham, Luton Town v Wigan Athletic and Grimsby Town v Burton all kick-off at 5.30pm. I was caught up in all the goals earlier but I picked up a bit of Arsenal team news which could interest some Gooners reading. I feel very happy to be a part of this club and to be in this city so I will continue to give it my all.” This is not the end of the

We will provide you with pre-game analysis, score updates, and news as it happens live here on [VAVEL USA.](https://www.vavel.com/en-us/) The Baggies have a point difference to the first two teams in the playoffs zone, Millwall, in sixth, and Middlesbrough, fifth. It's like we're up against a Premier League team. We all show up on a match day here at the stadium with a buzz and excitement from all the crowds and fans we have. In five games, they have won four and lost only once. I know their coach, Paul Cook. I always think it's important to use the past to continue to grow in the future. We are at home against a Championship team that is in very good form - there is a chance. We will do it all over again at The Hawthorns! We are very keen to continue to participate in the FA Cup. ⏱️ As I said before the Northampton game, I think it's a different kind of pressure.

Chesterfield 3-3 West Brom: Brandon Thomas-Asante hits stoppage time equaliser to take National League side to replay after Armando Dobra's brace looked to have ...

Some of their fans delighted in it a little too much, invading the pitch and goading the home support. But the National League club were never likely to roll over. They were back on level terms just five minutes later. But there was nothing in the way of sustained pressure and Chesterfield still enjoyed their moments, with sub Kabongo Tshimanga seeing a shot deflected into the side-netting. They took the game to West Brom and forced a succession of corners which piled on the pressure. Chesterfield are no pub league cloggers - they’re a high-flying National League outfit with ambitions to get back into League Two at the end of the season - but to push Championship West Brom so close was a mighty fine achievement.

West Brom player ratings v Chesterfield: Thomas-Asante saves ... (Birmingham Live)

Brandon Thomas-Asante ensured that West Bromwich Albion averted danger with a last gasp equaliser at non-league Chesterfield in a corker of an FA Cup tie.

He stung the palms of Fitzsimons and flicked a header over from a Wallace cross. Summed up Albion's day when passing straight out of play at the end. Not on the same wavelength when it came to the defensive line, and Ajayi was otherwise erratic with his passing and clearing. Cool under pressure when on the ball otherwise, although positioning for goals was poor and a lack of obvious chemistry with Ajayi in a makeshift defence made things awkward. Very hesitant on the right, never looked like imposing himself on the game, and any potential threat Diangana did carry was snuffed out by the revved up Clements. By no means is TGH's favourite position at right-back, but he was given the runaround by Dobra in the first half and too often Chesterfield found joy down that side. Under pressure at left-back as Chesterfield looked to play up to the crackling cup atmosphere. Poor showing from Rogic, who has blown hot and cold in an Albion shirt up to now. Albion never looked all too comfortable, but despite that they edged back in front again just after a quarter of an hour when Adam Reach slipped Grant in with a delightful through ball and last season's top scorer did the rest. Nervy in the second half when miscontrolling the ball. Albion plodded through the game, even after Corberan made changes and introduced first-choice personnel. Non-League Wrexham win 4-3 at Coventry in shock of the FA Cup third round; Chesterfield denied win over West Brom after Brandon Thomas-Asante snatches 3-3 ...

Preston secured their spot in the fourth round for the first time since 2018 thanks to a late 3-1 win over Huddersfield at Deepdale. Promise Omochere's winner sent Fleetwood into the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time with a 2-1 win at home to QPR. Omochere then produced a fine finish in the 67th minute to give Fleetwood a deserved win and create one of the shocks of the third round. League One Ipswich upset Championship side Rotherham 4-1, in a game with three penalties, to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup. Lee Ndlovu's late header earned National League side Boreham Wood, the lowest-ranked team left in the competition, a replay against League One Accrington Stanley in the third round of the FA Cup. But when Thomas O'Connor nodded home a third minutes before half-time they were back to square one, and in real trouble as soon as Jonathan Panzo was sent off for a clear handball 13 minutes into that second period, with Paul Mullin adding a fourth from the spot.
