Gary O'Neil's side will look to bring an end to their torrid run of form against the Championship table-toppers.
Yesterday, I attempted to predict the line-up. [Click HERE to read the piece.](https://www.dorset.live/sport/football/bournemouth-predicted-team-burnley-cup-8001055) "Like I've said before, we're a real tight-knit bunch here," he told DorsetLive. Joe Rothwell is set to start from the off, though, and there may be another couple of changes. Midfielder Rothwell sat down with reporters yesterday to speak about today's tie, his frustrations at the start of the season and his desire to showcase his abilities to supporters. [Click HERE to read his full quotes.](https://www.dorset.live/sport/football/oneil-tough-bournemouth-spell-improvements-8002715) We're expecting Gary O'Neil to opt for a strong starting XI today, such is the need to build confidence and bring about some welcome positivity. And who do you want to see in the team? Speaking at his press conference yesterday, the head coach pointed to the difference in performance between the loss at Liverpool and the setback at Manchester United, and insisted "it's not even close". [lost their last four fixtures](https://www.dorset.live/sport/football/oneil-tough-bournemouth-spell-improvements-8002715), all of their games since the restart of football after the World Cup break, and perhaps more worryingly, have also failed to find the back of the net in each of them. The midfielder has fallen below his lofty standards in recent weeks, admittedly, and speculation continues to surround his future at the club. The head coach is expected to field a strong team for this clash, with potentially just a handful of changes expected from the defeat at Manchester United, and he will be aware of how important it will be to clinch a positive result sooner rather than later.

He skipped in off his touchline, played a one-two with Brownhill, then nutmegged Jack Stephens and Phillip Billing before curling into the bottom corner. Burnley midfielder Josh Cullen sliced a first-time pass on the edge of his own area to give Christie an open goal. This time Christie's slack header offered up possession to Barnes, with Benson on the end of a perfect threaded pass to thump in his second of the afternoon. The Cherries failed to heed that warning in the 39th minute as a tardy Lewis Cook was hounded off the ball by Zaroury and Ashley Barnes before Josh Brownhill gave the Moroccan a tap-in. And the Scotland international made no mistake to give Bournemouth their first goal in 393 minutes, with their last strike coming in a 3-0 victory over Everton before the World Cup. Manuel Benson gave Burnley an early lead before Ryan Christie quickly levelled for the hosts, but Anass Zaroury struck twice in four minutes just before the break to give the visitors a 3-1 half-time advantage.
If this is a taste of the Premier League then Burnley have nothing to fear should they realise their promotion aim. The Clarets have had more complete ...
Most of the goals this afternoon have been down to some generous defending but in Zaroury and Benson Burnley have matchwinners who can produce moments. Midfielder was unselfish in squaring and the Morocco international couldn't miss But the game will be done soon and we go back to our Championship duties. Replays suggested the Cherries striker was onside and it was a let off for the visitors. It felt like it announced his comeback a little bit because he has come back from the World Cup and not done anything wrong but you could see he was catching up physically. But I think whenever we are defending the middle of the pitch with a high line and making sure there is not a lot of time on the ball to pick passes then I feel we are a solid defensive team and it is finding that balance. Barnes played a superb pass behind the home defence and Benson finished with unerring accuracy. He still has as much to improve on as he did a couple of months ago. He was afforded the freedom of the penalty area to finish at the second attempt having seen his initial effort well kept out by Bailey Peacock-Farrell. But the Clarets, as they often do under Kompany, found a goal. For the third time in four games Burnley were ahead inside the first 15 minutes. Once again the victory stemmed from Burnley being quick out of the blocks.

Manuel Benson and Anass Zaroury scored two goals apiece as Burnley advanced to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup at the expense of AFC Bournemouth.
Won plenty in the air, remained calm under pressure, and made a superb challenge to deny Dominic Solanke, who was readying himself to pull the trigger when breaking into the box. Tried to steady a very open cup tie by getting his foot on the ball and got in the faces of both Joe Rothwell and Lewis Cook. His perfect pass set up Manuel Benson for the away side’s fourth goal and he had an input at the other end when clearing Ryan Christie’s header off the line. Relatively anonymous in the first 35 minutes of the third round tie, but went on to make a significant contribution to his side’s success. Really looked at home in that position, illustrating the control, quality and awareness to pick up productive pockets of space to influence proceedings. Drawn out of position for Bournemouth’s second, but continuously put his head in where it hurts to quell the home side’s advances.

Give away three ridiculous goals and you have no chance. Burnley’s staunch loyalty to their methods is understandable. Layvin Kurzawa’s 37th-minute tap-in put the visitors in front and as Hull pushed for an equaliser, Daniel James broke away at the death to seal a place in the fourth round. Adam Armstrong then pounced on a second-half gaffe by the home keeper, Vicente Guaita, to fire the winner into an empty net. Promise Omochere’s winner sent Fleetwood Town into the fourth round for the first time with a 2-1 win at home to QPR. Odsonne Édouard put Palace ahead in the 14th minute but James Ward‑Prowse’s free-kick evaded everyone to draw things square before the break. QPR’s lead lasted just three minutes as the unmarked Toto Nsiala headed in Danny Andrew’s corner to draw Fleetwood level. “The three huge errors for the goals make it impossible to win the football match,” said the Bournemouth manager, Gary O’Neil.
