Cork made an impressive start to 2023 with a 5-11 to 0-14 victory over All-Ireland champions Kerry in their McGrath Cup opener at Páirc Uí Rinn.
In the other Group B match, Longford beat Laois 3-18 to 0-13 in Portarlington, with the goals from Dessie Reynolds, Dylan Farrell and Daniel Mimnagh coming in the first half. Dublin got their year off to a winning start as they overcame Oisín McConville's Wicklow 2-15 to 0-09 in their O'Byrne Cup Group C match in Baltinglass. Goals from Adrian Enright and Cathal Downes had Limerick 2-05 to 0-06 in front at the break, before they saw out the game with plenty to spare as Ray Dempsey's tenure got underway.
