DCU: 10 Unexpected Superman Comics That Could Be A Movie (Screen Rant)

These wouldn't be the expected comic book narratives to adapt to the big screen, but these Superman stories might have a lot of cinematic potential.

If there is to be a complete reboot of the DCU, it would be a shocking move to change Superman's ethos totally and follow these beats. It's full of fun and wacky adventures, demonstrating a whimsicality that could be taken to the screen. Superman faced off against various evil variants of himself, each of which was corrupted by a familiar character trait that audiences would have recognized in the original hero. Jimmy Olsen is such a crucial character in the lore of Clark Kent and has been on plenty of adventures in his own right. However, Season 11 of the show was continued on the page in a comic book form. The New 52 has brought together plenty of ideas, as has Rebirth. A new Superman has taken to the skies while the original Clark Kent has his own demons to face. The Lois Lane run was integral for painting her worldview and giving her journalism career a boost. Still, if DC were to go forward with a narrative like this, in many ways it would ground the superhero, demonstrating his own relatable imperfections that go beyond The story introduced Superman Prime, an alternative version of the Man of Steel who seemed perfect in every way. It's a story all about evolution, change, and Superman still becoming a symbol of hope. The DCU is shifting again now that James Gunn has taken control of the creative aspects of the company.

Superman Fixes Spider-Man's Worst Storyline With One Change (Screen Rant)

The latest Superman storyline is similar to Spider-Man's worst story, even referencing it. However, one simple change makes it even better.

Meanwhile, while Superman's life as Clark Kent returns to the status quo, he and his family retain the memories, along with the character development and lessons learned after years of his secret identity being public knowledge. By proxy, erasing Peter's marriage to MJ from both history and their memory (as well as erasing the world's knowledge that Peter Parker is Spider-Man) puts a hard reset on the franchise as a whole. The book's creative team seems aware of the similarities, seeing as Lex has a line that appears to reference One More Day.

The 10 Best Quotes From Superman: The Animated Series (CBR)

From Lex Luthor's sarcasm to Bizarro's declarations of superiority, Superman: The Animated Series is full of memorable quotes.

[Superman’s most iconic enemies](https://www.cbr.com/most-iconic-superman-villains/), Darkseid is one who is always guaranteed to make the Man of Tomorrow lose his temper. Given their similar appearances, Bizarro and Superman get into a feud about who among them is the real hero. 1/10 “Me Save Lois. A generally remorseless being, Darkseid refuses to sympathize with the Man of Steel, instead regretting that he didn’t even slaughter more people to make the hero angrier. Lois does so confidently since there is always the guarantee that Superman will save her in case something goes wrong. [Superman](https://www.cbr.com/tag/superman/) fans when it comes to the movies, but luckily, there’s still a lot of great content about the Man of Steel from the past. In the episode, they make another attempt to prove it but before doing so, The Flash gives brief descriptions of them both where he refers to himself as the feet of lead. The dig is too good that even Lois, who happens to be next to them, can't help but chuckle. The self-assessment is accurate because Mxyzptlk is known to be irksome more than dangerous. Instead of trying to kill Superman as he normally does, Luthor opts for a shady burn this time by suggesting that Superman is there to clean the windows. Ever the quick wit, Lois declares that she knows exactly where he is, but it’s somewhere she isn’t allowed to enter. Among the common tropes in comics and adaptations is that of superheroes showing up unannounced to their archenemies’ bases and attempting to reason with them.

Why Superman: The Animated Series Made So Many Changes To ... (/FILM)

Superman: The Animated Series made Brainiac an AI villain before we ever heard the name "Siri."

Overall, the drastic changes to the villain would prove to be the best, allowing for a deeper exploration of Brainiac and Superman. The self-preserving nature of the character and the new Krypton computer origins allowed the character to return in new and exciting ways to fight Superman. Intertwining the two characters' history with each other shows that the nuance and character work in "Batman: The Animated Series" carried over into other series just as well. While Timm is a self-proclaimed purist, the way Alan Burnett framed the story of Brainiac's disturbing ties to the destruction of krypton and the AI's need for its self-preservation was too good to pass up: The show was put into production following the massive success of "Batman: The Animated Series" and took place in the same universe as that show, meaning fans were given the occasional team-up between the two. He needs to build the web shooters!' — but then Alan explained it to me that [Brainiac] is basically Siri — though, he didn't say Siri back then — for the entire planet."
