The December 27th performance of Broadway's 'Death of a Salesman' was interrupted by a woman seated in the orchestra section of the theatre.

It is my hope that her name is documented and she is barred from attending any Broadway theatre going forward. The woman began to yell at the show’s star, Wendell Pierce, during Act 2. Reports also were spread around the internet that the woman was drunk and her husband tried unsuccessfully to get her to leave during intermission.

'The Wire' Actor Intervenes As Crazy Attendee Begins Screaming In ... (OutKick)

Actor Wendell Pierce had to intervene and stop a crazy lady that began screaming during the Broadway show "Death of a Salesman."

The 59-year-old star of HBO’s The Wire has been involved in acting for years now and it showed on Tuesday. The lady was wearing a fur coat and had been disruptive to those around her during the first act, according to eyewitnesses. You can imagine all the things and types of people that show up in the audience of a Broadway show. The house lights came on – something that rarely happens on Broadway during the actual show. The woman not only came back but then began her freak out just a few minutes into the second act, while screaming that she wasn’t leaving and if she couldn’t see the show, nobody could. At first the cast tried to ignore her.

There was a bit of a kerfuffle during “Death of a Salesman” on Broadway during Tuesday night's performance.

Police were called to take the seemingly drunk woman away and then Pierce began the Act 2 scene, which was paused, flawlessly from the top. Pierce tried to calm her as the show was halted and the house lights brought up. The play starring “The Wire” mainstay Wendell Pierce, was attended by a woman who was causing a little disruption around her during Act 1.

An unidentified woman, who many theatergoers said was under the influence, disrupted Act 2 of Death of a Salesman on Broadway on Tuesday.

I'm not into the royals and my point was we are all complicit in this whirlwind of royal obsession that feeds the tabloids while so much death is around us. The actor, who said he had not spoken to the Duchess since 2019, added: 'It was quite insensitive and offensive that we are all complicit in this sort of palace… I didn't see the interview or know it was about her suicidal thoughts,' he told gossip in the midst of so much death. 'Alright, here's the deal, I'll give you your money back,' he told the woman, who was wearing a fur coat. 'Today 3,000 people are going to die in America from COVID.

A disruption starring an unidentified Black woman stopped Tuesday's showing of "Death of a Salesman" on Broadway's Hudson Theatre.

Wendell Pierce Stays Cool During 'Death of a Salesman' Disturbance (Vanity Fair)

A ticket-holder in New York apparently thought it was an audience participation show.

Among its many points of reference in other work, it is the play-within-the-film of Asghar Farhadi’s Academy Award-winning Iranian movie The Salesman and it weirdly over-indexes as a punchline on Cobb, won the Tony Award for Best Play, Miller won the now-retired Best Author of a Play Tony, Elia Kazan won for Best Director, and other awards included the Pulitzer Prize. This person also claims the woman wouldn’t leave the theater without getting her money back, and, before the police came, Pierce told an usher to just grab some cash to get her out of there. He was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for the West End production in 2020. It appeared, at first, that she would leave during intermission, but the top of Act II is when things got truly out of hand.
