A 29-year-old man is in a critical condition after a serious assault in Carrigaline, Co Cork this evening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward and for any person with camera footage to make it available to them. The scene is currently preserved for technical examination and investigations are ongoing. The incident took place at Glenwood Estate at around 5.45pm.
