The song features Crosby singing the 1941 standard, “The Little Drummer Boy,” while Bowie sings “Peace on Earth.”.

Crosby and Bowie’s original version of “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy” was originally recorded on 11 September 1977 at a studio near London as part of Crosby’s television special Bing Crosby’s Merrie Olde Christmas. Reilly got together to impersonate Bing Crosby and David Bowie during their famous duet of the holiday song “The Little Drummer Boy.” [Huffington Post](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/will-ferrell-john-c-reill_n_795736), and it followed an animated version released by Jack Black and Jason Segal.

Watch Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly parody David Bowie and Bing ... (Far Out Magazine)

There's not much better than the video for David Bowie and Bing Crosby's 'Little Drummer Boy' except for Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's parody of it.

Of course, the reality of the shoot was not so sweet. The video sees Bowie accidentally interrupt Crosby while looking to practice the piano. To shoehorn Bowie into the special, they created a clumsy storyline which revolved around Crosby being invited to spend the holiday season with a recently acquainted long-lost relative in England and their neighbour, you guessed it, was Mr Bowie. It’s a strange spectacle to watch back, and, in truth, Bowie looks somewhat uncomfortable at the beginning of his appearance, but that soon changes once the pair start singing. We needn’t remind you much of the beautiful video starring David Bowie and Bing Crosby. It’s a time of year where usual boundaries are forgiven for a more wholesome view of the world, with charity and connection heralded as our brightest moments as a society.
