And then almost make a little bit of a map, like here’s a two liner that I could share with that person just so I have a little bit of a roadmap of how I’d like the conversation to go, of course adapting to how I view it going. So what I’m sensing in our conversation is a hesitation to fully put out there what it is that you want and need out of concern of how it might be responded to. I know I need to scale myself and it’s been on the roadmap for a long time and it’s inevitable. So, I think part of this for you is understanding that what you’re giving out, you also need to be using the boomerang effect and giving to yourself as well. Now the good news is clearly you have the ability to be helpful because you said, I don’t know how to help myself, but you have the ability to help because you’re doing it for everybody else. To what extent is your career what you feel led to your physical burnout or your overall sense of burnout, and is it the sole factor that led to that? And in this case, the part that’s not in our control fully, as you said, it’s part of the equation, but the part that’s not in our control is what happened. And then it’s like, “Ooh, I can’t find a house that size, or I can’t afford a house that size.” So, not to say you can’t have it, it’s just being ready for there may be potential trade-offs that you have to make when the time comes. Not that I’m looking for exactly what I want, but the core of what I’m looking for I have not seen existing in the world. And I don’t think the old way of just seeing if a job pops up is going to work because the landscape that I’m in is not really defined for my role, and I can’t really go on LinkedIn and just search for this role. So, I’m asking the question because I think, sometimes, we say, oh, this is what we want, and we don’t recognize that we might have to let go of something in order to pick up something else. And I’m worried that if I don’t have a long-term strategy for finding that next job or figuring out how to approach the rest of my career, I’m going to be stuck in an environment that might not be sustainable for me just in terms of what it’s asking of me physically.
Wealthy countries can create prosperity while using less materials and energy if they abandon economic growth as an objective.
Addressing the question of how to prosper without growth will require a massive mobilization of researchers in all disciplines, including open-minded economists, social and political scientists, modellers and statisticians. Better understanding is needed of the obstacles faced by governments that have ecological ambitions, such as those elected this year in Chile and Colombia. Forums working on this include the Wellbeing Economy Alliance, the Growth in Transition movement in Austria, the European Parliament’s Post-Growth conference initiative and the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Limits to Growth. For example, how do groups such as the think tanks, corporations, lobbyists and political parties that work to support elite interests organize, nationally and internationally, to scupper progressive economic and social policy? Polls in the United States and the United Kingdom show support for job guarantees and working-time reductions (see [go.nature.com/3uyhdjv](https://go.nature.com/3uyhdjv) and [go.nature.com/3y8ujz5](https://go.nature.com/3y8ujz5)). Polls in Europe show that the majority of people prioritize well-being and ecological objectives over growth (see In many parts of the world, property markets cater to developers, landlords and financiers. and P.A.V.), [EUROGREEN](https://people.unipi.it/simone_dalessandro/eurogreen-model) and [MEDEAS](https://medeas.eu/#home) are already being used to project the impacts of degrowth policies, including redistributive taxes, universal public services and reductions in working time. These studies don’t fully account for institutions such as the state, and are likely to be underestimates. But these studies are unable to separate out wasteful consumption such as big cars or yachts, and are thus likely to be overestimates. Assumptions that reduced hours result in more employment need to be tested in different sectors and settings. Sectors such as social care and pensions need secure funding mechanisms for public providers, and better regulation and dismantling of perverse financial incentives for private providers

Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, when many organizations began looking for ways to support the mental health needs of their staff, leaders at the 48-hospital ...
In his role as system medical director and lead physician for behavioral health, Felkel has been on the front lines of addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health in children, teens, adults and the health care workforce. We did a presentation on the program at a physician well-being conference, and it was great to have people from other hospitals come up and talk to us. We have sister hospitals that we partly own, and they might have a network of other facilities that want to do the same type of supportive program. That means we also have a duty to help restore dignity and well-being to vulnerable people. We have had other people asking about it, and some organizations have tried it and had success. The program is confidential and anonymous, of course, but I can say that there have been some very rewarding outcomes. In many health systems, that kind of care is siloed, but the conversations around burnout have grown because of the pandemic. The Caring4Colleagues program has worked well so far, and that’s a testament to several things, including the fact that relationships matter. We do have buy-in from our leaders, and the pandemic era has kept events like the suicide death of Dr. In 2020, we served 88 physicians and advanced practice clinicians, and from there, the program grew to include other staff members. They found that when stress and burnout are the issue, the remedy might be connecting with a coworker who can be in your corner because they are already in your circle – someone who is living the same kinds of challenges in the same hallways, offices and exam rooms. It’s a kind of a triage line, but it is very different from the traditional method of calling an employee assistance program and then waiting for a referral.

Today's MRI machines are huge, expensive devices and because of that don't help as many people as they could. And because Phillips is the project partner, Whalen sees a lot more business coming to his door as the word gets around about what his company is capable of. He said the job was simple: make MRI machines that are better in every way than what's out there now.

Trial led by Exeter University psychologist to look at how adding psychedelics to therapy could make it more effective.
We also need a push to better understand the mechanisms of the treatment effect so that patients most likely to respond can be selected and appropriately monitored,” he said. That level of ketamine, said Morgan, was on a par with a large recreational dose. “By carefully examining the mechanisms we can also learn about the most effective ways to refine treatment in the future.” The other group of participants will be given three infusions of a much larger dose of ketamine, 0.8mg/kg, together with seven psychological therapy sessions. Half the participants will be given three separate infusions of a very low dose of ketamine, 0.01mg/kg, over a period of one to two months, with educational sessions about relaxation and the harmful effects of alcohol given before and after each dosing, with a seventh educational session at the end of the intervention period. Delays to support for children with special educational needs in England are an "acute concern", Ofsted's chief inspector has told the BBC.

Eamon Ryan will seek Government approval for a new Energy Poverty Action Plan.
Minister Ryan is expected to provide further details of the plan, including longer-term strategies to address energy poverty, following this morning’s Cabinet meeting. This new €10m fund is in addition to the range of proven actions taken by Government to address the rising cost of energy. As part of the new plan, a new fund of €10 million will be put in place to provide support for those “at risk of energy debt”, including Pay As You Go gas and electricity customers. The plan will also provide further advice to people at risk of energy poverty. People will also be advised to seek support from groups and charities such as MABS, St Vincent de Paul or Alone. In order to ensure that the most vulnerable people can access financial supports and credits for electricity and gas quickly and easily, they will be advised to contact their suppliers directly or to go to their Local Department of Social Protection office in order to access the additional needs payment.
The energy poverty action plan will help those at risk of energy debt.
