The fact that he’s not a superb wrestler there himself, and that he’s not a big finishing threat on the feet, means that this fight is likely to contain numerous points where Gordon & Pimblett clash hard and create chaos. Zane Simon: There’s a solid chance that Pimblett is reaching the upper limits of where his balls-to-the wall aggression style can take him without a range striking or technical wrestling game, but Gordon has a few stylistic gaps of his own that play really well into what Pimblett wants to do. I think he’ll be able to nullify a lot of what Pimblett does to end fights, but struggle to impose his will in the fight. Tim Bissell: I think Pimblett will win here, but I don’t expect it to be a sensational showing. I don’t think he’s among the elite of the division (yet?), but he should be good enough to beat Jared Gordon. Still, there is a distinct possibility that Morono squeaks by another (seemingly better opponent) by taking a competitive bout on the scorecards. Depending upon the book, I would recommend a wager on du Plessis by decision at around +352 or better (projected +333). I would have to bet Blachowicz at this price in a pure standup fight. And I wouldn’t necessarily look to play him (for a full bet) past -175. Mitchell is officially 5-0 under the UFC banner, though he did lose to Brad Katona (via submission) on The Ultimate Fighter. And Quarantillo by decision (projected +174, listed +225 at DraftKings) is the only route I’d go in the winning method market. Prime for prime, Ponzinibbio is the clear side in this matchup, especially at this price point. Perrin is willing to wrestle (more than two takedown attempts per round) and has fun scrambling ability. Technically, Shahbazyan is the better fighter everywhere and likely has Lungiambula covered in this matchup skill for skill (aside from raw power). FanDuel lined this flyweight bout as high as -1000 (90.9% implied) to end inside the distance. And perhaps the power/strength advantage is enough to finish those early opportunities at a lower weight class. I project slight value on Koslow’s moneyline (projected +260) and would play that number small to about +285.

If Topuria can’t find the early finish and fades lades then potentially Mitchell can get the finish. There is a question around his cardio and how he looks late on. This is such an interesting fight and it’s so hard to come down on a side. At a price that short, I think he’s very opposable. I feel like I might be making a mistake here given what we’ve seen from Till of late, but at the price I’m willing to take one more chance on him. If you’re staying up for the card, I’d also be interested in a live bet on Gordon depending on how he looks after round one.

The UFC newcomer didn’t show any signs of nerves as he effortlessly took the back and started working for submissions as Perrin did his best to play defense. The end came at just 2:44 in the first round as Rosas lived up to the hype that had been built around the teenager ever since he signed his UFC contract.

Pimblett started to throw elbows and knees while his back was to the cage, and then he found the space he needed to get free. Pimblett was finding success with his leg kicks, and started to land a bit with his hands as the round went on. Pimblett initiated a scramble and found his way on the back with about 30-seconds to go. Gordon escaped the sub and the fight returned the the feet. He also isn’t known for that one-hitter quitter on the feet, but Gordon is always game and is historically someone you have to finish in order to beat. Pimblett improved to 20-3 as a professional and 4-0 in the UFC with three stoppages. Pimblett also revealed that he injured his foot early in the fight and that he wanted to work with Gordon on supporting charitable efforts. The strike count was low on both ends, but Pimblett landed a handful of solid elbows and knees with his back to the fence. Gordon held Pimblett against the cage for the majority of the round, but he landed barely any strikes of substance. Pimblett has a tendency to keep his chin high and Gordon made him pay for it early and often. All three judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Pimblett, but some judges awarded each fighter different rounds.

Yahoo Sports scored it 30-27 for Gordon, but all three judges (Doug Crosby, Chris Lee and Ron McCarthy) had it 29-28 for Pimblett.

The judges – Doug Crosby, Chris Lee and Ron McCarthy – agreed on the score, though they did not all agree on the rounds won by each competitor. But all three judges saw the UFC 282 co-main event for Pimblett, giving the U.K. star two of three rounds for unanimous 29-28 scores.

Pimblett with a nice shot to the body, Gordon responded with a left to the head and knee to the body. Pimblett hit a low kick and Gordon returned fire with a one-two. A huge step in left hook landed for Gordon but Pimblett was unphased. Pimblett immediately took the center, landed a body kick and threw one to the head. Gordon landed a takedown and took the back but was too high and slipped off. Ankalaev pressed forward and landed a decent left straight from the southpaw stance. And now it's time for the final fight of the night. Both guys threw simultaneously with Ankalaev landing a nice right hand on the exit. Ankalaev isolated Blachowicz's leg with a grapevine and softened Ankalaev up with punches. Ankalaev landed a nice overhand right but Blachowicz responded with a hard body kick and more leg strikes. Ankalaev closed the round with a few hard punches. The impact landed by Ankalaev was more severe in the fifth round than it was in the fourth.
