Harry and Meghan Netflix: I sacrificed everything to join my wife (BBC News)

The first three episodes of the six-part series titled "Harry & Meghan" are released on Netflix.

- The duke compares Meghan to Princess Diana, saying: "So much of what Meghan is, and how she is, is so similar to my mum. and "are you harming your family, Harry?" He adds: "She sacrificed everything she ever knew, the freedom that she had, to join me in my world. "But what people need to understand is, as far as a lot of the family were concerned, everything that she was being put through, they had been put through as well. On Tuesday, Prince Harry and Meghan faced awkward questions from reporters including "are you putting money before family?" - Harry says his family were "incredibly impressed" with Meghan when they first met her. Netflix and the Sussexes' production company Archewell have not commented. He says he believes the media see his trauma as its "narrative to control" "So it was almost like a rite of passage, and some of the members of the family were like 'my wife had to go through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Speaking in episode two, Harry says members of the Royal Family questioned why Meghan should be protected from newspaper headlines. But once it has been pointed out, or identified within yourself you then need to make it right." "My job is to keep my family safe.

It is expected to expand on criticism of the royal family and British media delivered in a series of interviews over the past 18 months. Race became a central issue for the monarchy following Harry and Meghan's interview with American talk show host Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. Harry's criticism of the media was tinged with anger over the way the press treated his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a car accident in 1997 while being followed by photographers. Charles is making the case that the House of Windsor can help unite an increasingly diverse nation by using the early days of his reign to meet with many of the ethnic groups and faiths that make up modern Britain.
