Wolves are still in relegation-infused bother, but they’ve responded perfectly to going behind. Brentford 1-1 Wolves (Neves 52). A deflected Ryan Sessegnon shot whistles into the net, and out-of-sorts Spurs are back in it at Dean Court! Bournemouth 2-1 Tottenham (Sessegnon 57). The VAR pedants look in vain for a reason to chalk it off, but there’s nothing wrong with it, and after an interminable wait, it stands. Ben Davies converts from a Spurs corner, benefiting from a Mark Travers flap, and the comeback is complete! A last-gasp winner slammed into the net by Rodrigo Bentancur, and this turnaround will change the mood music in N17 ahead of the must-not-lose Champions League game in Marseille. Preston, having been one down early doors, are 2-1 up in added time thanks to Jordan Storey. “Brighton, who were winless in five matches under Roberto De Zerbi, were fired by indignation and could have won by more than 4-1.” “Spurs showed plenty of the spirit and fight that Antonio Conte has long been calling for.”

Pascal Gross's last-gasp fourth goal capped a fine afternoon for Potter's successor Roberto De Zerbi, with the first win of his reign moving Brighton up to seventh in the standings, while Chelsea stay fifth, eight points behind leaders Manchester City. It was an awful afternoon for the £62million signing who was exposed time and again by his old team’s system. Breathless Brighton kept coming and soon had a quickfire second after Ruben Loftus-Cheek diverted a corner into his own net, with another own goal from Trevoh Chalobah making it three for Brighton three minutes before the interval.

But Gallagher seizes possession on the right inside the Brighton half, and plays to Loftus-Cheek. Chelsea hold a spell of possession, Cucurella ushering the ball down the left. Mount has a strike from wide, which lifts just wide of the left post, as Chelsea push Brighton harder and harder for the equaliser. Kovacic sets up on a run through the middle, before being set upon by two Brighton defenders. Things are extremely cagey at the Amex as Chelsea continue to be frustrated by Brighton.
Chelsea will hope to extend their unbeaten run under Graham Potter to ten matches when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon.
It's not entirely clear how Chelsea will line up in attack but there is no Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Armando Broja in the starting XI. He will line up alongside Mateo Kovacic, who is fit to start despite coming off in Austria with a minor issue. The England international didn't feature in Salzburg but has become a fixture in the side under Potter. After a successful trial against Red Bull Salzburg, Potter has opted to play two wingers in the wing-back positions once again. He will be protected by a back three of Trevoh Chalobah, who has been in hugely impressive form in recent weeks, the ageless Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella. It's a record the Italian coach will be desperate to end this afternoon.
