Cork City Council have issued a Level 2 Flood Alert ahead of Status Orange rain, set to hit tonight.
By 11pm, the entire county will have seen rain for hours, with Met Eireann warning of an increased risk of flooding. The Status Orange is set to lift at midnight, so from around 10pm it should start to ease. Current indications are that the entirety of West Cork will see some nasty downpours by this time. From around 3pm, East Cork will get a break from the worst of it for a bit, while the rest of Cork remains under rainclouds. At 10pm, nearly the entire county will be covered, with some parts of North Cork escaping the blast for now. From tonight, heavy rain is set to hit - moving in from West Cork first before covering the entire county - with non-stop downpours lasting right until Thursday.
