We’ll also get Smackdown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan defending her belt against Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match and Seth Rollins facing Matt Riddle in a fight pit with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier serving as the special guest referee. Belair, along with superstars on both Raw on Smackdown, have been fighting back against Bayley’s group for the past few months and both women will now have to climb a ladder to claim the championship. Several matches have already been announced for the card, including Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defending her title against Bayley in a ladder match.

The 2022 version of WWE Extreme Rules featured six stipulation matches with only two titles on the line. [Extreme Rules](https://www.wwe.com/shows/extremerules) is the third last [WWE Premium Live Event](https://tjrwrestling.net/every-wwe-pay-per-view-review/) (or pay-per-view) of the year. I think part of the reason they do Saturday shows in the fall especially is to avoid the NFL Sunday night game, which is a smart move.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022: Results, Live Updates and Match Ratings (CNET)

Ronda Rousey is gunning for the SmackDown Women's Championship, and Seth Rollins goes into the Fight Pit with Matt Riddle.

Sheamus put Gunther through the announcer's table with a Celtic Cross powerbomb. Butch took out everyone outside with a moonsault off barrels set up at ringside, leaving Sheamus and Gunther in the ring. He took out Kaiser and Vinci, which allowed Sheamus and Gunther to showdown in the middle of the ring. Morgan setup a table inside the ring, but Rousey caught her with a knee to the face and choked Morgan on the ring ropes. Morgan then hit Rousey with a series of chair shots -- among the weakest chair shots I've ever seen. Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland (The Brawling Brutes) defeated Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci (Imperium) in a Good Old Fashion Donnybrook match (a street fight) to open Extreme Rules. Morgan got a two count, and Rousey immediately countered the pinfall into an armbar. Rousey grabbed the baseball bat Morgan brought to the ring, but Morgan sprayed Rousey with a fire extinguisher. Rousey tied Morgan to the apron with her black belt and barraged her with baseball bat strikes. Morgan setup a steel chair between the top and middle rope, then tried to slingshot Rousey into it. Kross beat down McIntyre with the strap for a while, then McIntyre Hulked Up and mounted a comeback. The result was a match that was largely just there.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and ... (Bleacher Report)

While the "White Rabbit" teasers have been the biggest mystery in pro wrestling over the past few weeks, we also had some great matches to watch this weekend.

It was awkward to set up, but the payoff was worth it. - The final KOD of the match was scary. He attacked The Scottish Warrior before the bell and they fought for several minutes while the ref looked on from the ring helpless to stop them. It didn't take long for both women to begin utilizing the ladders that were sprinkled around the ring. - The shot Morgan took from the bat as she jumped off the stairs was wild. Some of the chair and bat shots may not have looked great, but they had enough spots using other weapons and moves to make up for it. Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky did not stay at ringside, but their presence loomed throughout the match. After finally getting her hands on the bat, Morgan began to turn the tide in her favor. It's difficult to say exactly what the issue was, but something just didn't click despite a fantastic effort from both Superstars. Rousey prevented her from using the bat right away, so Morgan was immediately on defense without her weapon. This match was chaotic in the best possible way. All of it came into play along with several other things in the ringside area.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022: Results, Bray Wyatt Return, Full Recap ... (CNET)

The White Rabbit is real. Bray Wyatt showed up at Extreme Rules after weeks of teasing a return.

Morgan set up a table inside the ring, but Rousey caught her with a knee to the face and choked Morgan on the ring ropes. Morgan set up a steel chair between the top and middle rope, then tried to slingshot Rousey into it. Rousey grabbed the baseball bat Morgan brought to the ring, but Morgan sprayed Rousey with a fire extinguisher. Kross beat down McIntyre with the strap for a while, then McIntyre Hulked Up and mounted a comeback. In among the most wince-inducing moments of the match, Bayley setup a ladder between the barricade and the ring steps on the outside, and laid Belair out on it. A ladder half was in the ring after snapping earlier in the match. Belair fell off the ladder and fell out of the ring. Early in the match she reprimanded a young fan for calling her a loser, and later on snatched a sign from a fan in the crowd. Ripley got two chairs from under the ring and set up a Conchairto on Phoenix, which got Edge to say "I quit". Balor had setup a chair between the top and middle ropes in the corner turnbuckle and tried to toss Edge into it. Riddle beat the count, and Riddle climbed up the cage to the platforms on its second level. The best match of the night was the "I Quit" Match between Edge and Finn Balor, which the latter won.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Results, Review, And Surprise Bray ... (GameSpot)

Here is everything you need to know about the WWE PPV as it airs on Peacock.

It's smart of WWE to just give us the confirmation and a taste of Wyatt for now, because Raw is not unmissable. And getting the return of the maskless Bray Wyatt is an excellent touch--though he does still have a mask some of the time, it seems, and it looks very inspired by the movie Black Phone. There was a lot of silliness in this match with all of the shenanigans, but it all absolutely worked for me. So far, this is my match of the night. And can we talk for a second about how into all of this the crowd was? It is the perfect finish for this match. Normally, I write a little here and there while the match was going on, but I was really just enjoying the match. These two are the goods and I Quit matches are often a blast. Mat: So the buildup to this match was Rousey calling Morgan "Hooters Barbie" a lot. What's especially great about this match is it's essentially a street fight and the ringside area was filled with potential weapons, but the action was largely just these six people smacking the crap out of each other. You can get the details of Wyatt's return to WWE and the results for every Extreme Rules match below. Anyway, this is the perfect way to kick off what looks like a show full of banger matches because it perfectly sets the tone for a wild night of action.

Bray Wyatt return: Wrestler comes back to WWE at Extreme Rules ... (DraftKings Nation)

The White Rabbit was finally unveiled at the pay-per-view in Philadelphia.

For week, we had been getting cryptic “White Rabbit” Easter eggs on both Raw and Smackdown and fans immediately connected the dots to a potential Wyatt return. We then got a cryptic video, followed by Wyatt himself appearing on stage and revealing himself to the ecstatic Philadelphia crowd. After weeks and weeks of speculation, Bray Wyatt made his anticipated return to the WWE following the main event of the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on Saturday.

He blew out the lantern and the screen went black with a new logo flashing on the screen. I don't know that it's "match of the year" in terms of in-ring action, but it stands out enough to warrant a perfect grade for the creative. Rollins continued to lay on the punishment with a Rob Van Dam-inspired frog splash off the cage wall. Rhea Ripley appeared out of nowhere and handcuffed Edge to the ropes. Belair fended them off with a messy double KOD off the ropes, but the distraction was enough for Bayley to gain the upper hand. The action finally spilled back into the ring, following a detour into the crowd, with Balor in firm control. A pair of messy spots and a confusing conclusion hurt a match that was shaping up to be the best in their series. Bayley returned the favor with a modified sunset flip into a ladder leaning in the corner. The champion laid out the challenger on a flat ladder and creamed her with a standing springboard moonsault. Kross' attempts to avoid the stipulation made sense considering his tactics in the lead-up to the match and his general penchant for mind games. There were no titles on the line, it wasn't quite a "Match of the Year" contender and there was no major plot development beyond extending the feud. The only thing holding the match back from "A" or "A+" territory is a lack of big-time stakes.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 recap & reactions: Philly special (Cageside Seats)

The latest WWE Premium Live Event delivered the goods, including an epic return we all knew was coming.

GUNTHER ended up powerbombed through a table and Giovanni Vinci was all that was left to deal with Sheamus, BUTCH, and Ridge Holland. Daniel Cormier was brought in and they made a big deal of it, giving it the top spot on the show, and it was just sort of there. The rest of the match was the kind of madness you’d expect from a match like this. Brawling Brutes six-man tag team match, just one night after Sheamus was screwed out of the Intercontinental championship when GUNTHER went full Chael Sonnen and tapped but not really and then cheated his way to victory. By the end of it, it was mostly clear why they didn’t go on last. In the end, it was more or less the story they were telling all along — Morgan never really belonged in there with Rousey. What ensued was just the kind of beefy brawl we knew we’d be in for, with a finish we always should have expected. I really enjoyed the nod to the rest of their program at the start of Drew McIntyre vs. Of course this is the kind of finish we would get. They did a ton of selling and counting, had one big spot, and Riddle just submitted Rollins clean. I’m not even going to bother to try to decipher the presentation. 8, 2022) in Philadelphia and I’ll be damned if Triple H and the gang didn’t go and do it again.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022: Bray Wyatt Returning And 5 Smart ... (Forbes)

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 should mark a turning point for Ronda Rousey, the return of Bray Wyatt and a big night for Karrion Kross.

While there are questions about whether Wyatt is needed in WWE and how successful he can even be with an ominous Fiend-like gimmick after it proved so difficult to book in the past, his talent is undeniable and there are plenty of marquee feuds waiting for him. While Lesnar has been able to reinvent himself as a likable babyface, the booking of Rousey has been hit or miss for much of her current WWE run. [miss out on Paige](https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1019513/behind-the-scenes-news-regarding-aew-and-wwes-interest-in-paige/), the division has so much depth and talent that it appears to be set for years to come. [big things in store](https://cultaholic.com/posts/report-finn-balor-set-for-major-wwe-push) for Balor, who is being presented as one of Raw’s top heels and has been performing surprisingly well in that role. Virtually all signs are pointing to WWE’s cryptic “White Rabbit” campaign, the culmination of which will take place at Extreme Rules, leading to the return of Bray Wyatt. Ironically enough, she now finds herself battling Liv Morgan once again in a feud between two stars who are generating mixed reactions both at live events and across social media because of the way some of WWE’s previous booking decisions have come back to haunt the company. McIntyre is coming off a rare PPV loss, having fallen to Reigns in cheap fashion at last month’s Clash at the Castle spectacle, and yet, the fact that he didn’t lose that match clean makes him able to put over Kross here. As WWE looks to build toward Extreme Rules will mark Kross’s first pay-per-view match since returning, as he will take on Drew McIntyre in a marquee bout that is pivotal for both stars. [since 2020](https://www.f4wonline.com/news/wwe/wwe-smackdown-ratings-up-best-viewership-since-2020) and the overall quality of Raw undoubtedly on the upswing since Triple H took over as WWE’s creative head, Extreme Rules—headlined by Bayley vs. Kross has been presented very well thus far during his second go-round, but it’s all for naught if he doesn’t back it up in the ring. With the blockbuster Crown Jewel event rapidly approaching and Survivor Series around the corner as well, expect some major creative developments at Extreme Rules.

Best and Worst Booking Decisions of WWE Extreme Rules 2022 ... (Bleacher Report)

WWE's Extreme Rules premium live event was a show that featured mostly good matches, some questionable creative decisions within them, and a closing angle ...

It was a nice nod to that particular creative decision and proof of the booking team's attention to detail. Rollins beat Riddle straight-up at Clash at the Castle and had no real beef left with The Original Bro, but that did not stop the creative team from milking the rivalry for an additional three weeks. Then Beth Phoenix came to the aid of her husband, stared down and then brawled with Rhea Ripley. That can easily be retconned come Monday's Raw, but it was such a glaringly bad creative decision that one has to wonder why Kai and Sky would even be used in that spot. The Raw Women's Championship defense by Bianca Belair, which saw her battle Bayley in a Ladder Match, was very good in and of itself. They could have failed to deliver and infuriated an audience that had been chanting "we want Wyatt" well before the event went on the air Saturday night.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 review: The return of Bray Wyatt (Figure Four Online)

F4W editor Bryan Rose shares thoughts on everything that went down at Extreme Rules.

I was hoping for a better show than what we got out of Extreme Rules, but there was definitely some good stuff throughout the show, specifically in the Balor vs. Shave ten minutes out of this match, which involved a lot of brawling around the arena, and it would have been better. The baseball bat spots just didn’t work and the finish was weird with Liv laughing as she passed out via a weird submission that I didn’t think came across well in execution. Kross wasn’t someone I had in mind when it came to bringing back people, and this match didn’t really sway me otherwise. Morgan sending Rousey through a table was a cool spot, but that about ends the positives. I don’t remember any part of the match where he got involved, only at the end where he raised Riddle’s hand. Karrion Kross probably shouldn’t have lost his first match back in the company. Bayley and Bianca Belair had a good ladder match that had some cool spots. I guess we could build towards a Survivor Series WarGames match with Bayley and Belair captaining teams, but we’ll see. Going into Extreme Rules, I thought this had a chance to be a very strong show. It began with real-life counterparts of The Firefly Funhouse puppets appearing in the crowd. But at the same time, it wasn’t like I was actively rooting for his return, either.
