19.5 Aamer Jamal to Moeen Ali, 1 run, very full outside off, Moeen Ali drills it to extra-cover on the edge of the ring. Tonight it was the debutant Aamer Jamal who was the man. The pitch was two-paced and thankfully the target we set was enough but the pitch was tricky. Length ball on the stumps, was right in the slot, Willey plinks a loft to long-on. We knew it was hard for the bowlers to control with the dew and overnight rain, we needed to hang in there and go hard at the end. Mo has to take the run and he does so. 19.2 Aamer Jamal to Moeen Ali, no run, it gets tougher now. Nawaz, Shadab and Iftikhar kept it tight, took the odd wicket and pushed the rate all the while up. He gets the big wickets and he's been awesome in the two games he has played for us [on Wood]. Babar Azam: Shadab, the way he came back, the way he started was nice to see especially after an injury. The next game is on the 30th of September. Till then, catch up on all the action on this platform - sleep tight, cuddle up and be safe.

Sam Curran likes the round the wicket angle of attack to Rizwan and keeps him down to two singles.

We want to win the game first of all but there's a couple of the guys we want to give a run to. He tries to fetch it on the pull but it's too quick and he top edges it to the man on the fence at square leg. One ball arcs down the legside and is called wide but he follows that with one that does shape and threatens to nip through the gate. Rizwan tries to prejudge Woakes again, drops to his knee for a sweep but the bowler serves up a slower ball that he didn't pick and it hits him on the knee. Wood goes shorter and Rizwan shovels it round the corner for a single. He starts at 146kmlh, 91 mph, back of a length and Babar jabs it back up the pitch, past the bowler and they run a single. Rizwan drops to his knee for a premeditated sweep down to fine leg for a single and Masood works a single through midwicket. Rizwan tucks a back of a length delivery down to fine leg for a single and Masood gets off the mark with a pull. They make it but only by Rizwan getting in the way of the throw at the non-striker's and wearing it on his back. The next ball is short and Rizwan swivels and pulls it for six. Nawaz defended a short ball on the back foot, knocking it into the pitch and set off for a run. Beauty and the beast from Malan who plays a majestic cover drive for four, slaps the next ball down to third man for four more then has swipe and a miss at the third.

He emerged from the powerplay on 25, having yet to really find his rhythm. Dawid Malan was the last man standing from the top order, but was living on his luck as he mixed a handful of boundaries with even more plays and misses outside off. Ben Duckett appeared to have the answers, stroking two of his first four deliveries to the boundary, but he was gone for 10 when he threw the bat at width from Mohammad Wasim and failed to clear deep third.

Moeen Ali falls short in dramatic finale as Pakistan take series lead (ESPNcricinfo.com)

Mohammad Rizwan gives Pakistan fighting total, debutant Aamer Jamal holds nerve at death.

With the wicket steadily getting skiddier and conditions wetter, Pakistan opted for the complete inverse, throwing in Iftikhar and the returning Shadab right after the powerplay. Rested for the fourth game, he picked up where he left off in Lahore, breathing the sort of fire that proved much too hot to handle for Pakistan once more. But with Moeen turning down singles, Jamal found the wide line that had kept him quiet and England found Pakistan's modest total was just out of their reach. Iftikhar slid them through flat almost every ball, taking care to steer clear of the batters' hitting arcs, while Shadab got the ball to skid and stick in the pitch. When Wasim was carved through point in the 16th over, there was evidence the game wasn't quite done yet. In the middle overs, Wood showed there was as much guile to his game as speed. After an injury lay-off, he traumatised Pakistan in the third T20I with the sort of extreme pace the hosts have considered their birthright for generations, even clocking 97mph/156kph on the speed gun. A slew of fours and sixes off the middle of his bat took the game deep, before Jamal held steady and closed out the game with the final delivery. Phil Salt picked out the only man out in the deep on the leg side in the fourth over, but it had taken Alex Hales just five balls to find backward point trying to slice a delivery that had turned and gripped. He had racked up 63 off 46; the next highest score from a Pakistan batter was 15. On an off-day with the bat and a splendid bowling performance from England, spearheaded by [Mark Wood](http://www.espncricinfo.com/player/mark-wood-351588)and [David Willey](http://www.espncricinfo.com/player/david-willey-308251), Rizwan hung around until the 18th over, and was the ninth wicket to fall. In the end, a majestic lone hand from

Pakistan hold nerve to edge out England in fifth T20; takes series lead (Sportstar)

Chasing a modest 146, England needed 15 off the final over but debutant Aamer Jamal held his nerve against the experienced Moeen (51 not out) to close out ...

The in-form Mohammad Rizwan (63) struck another half-century and combined with the lower order to push Pakistan towards a respectable total as the home side were bowled out for 145 in 19 overs. After being asked to bat, Pakistanโ€™s middle-order woes returned to haunt them as they crumbled to 88-6 after excellent spells from Mark Wood (3-20) and David Willey (2-23). England never got going in its chase, losing both openers early before Dawid Malan chipped in with a dogged 36 and Moeen kept them in the hunt with a few late blows but the England captain left himself too much to do in the last over.

Aamir Jamal seals Pakistan victory in fifth T20 as England slip up in ... (The Guardian)

England slipped to their third defeat of the series when they ended up six runs shy of Pakistan's modest total of 145 in Lahore.

The blow meant he was unable to keep wicket in the second innings, but it is only a minor injury and he will be back for the sixth match of the series on Friday. By the time Shadab and Mohammad Nawaz had contrived a couple of calamitous run-outs, Pakistan were a droopy 106 for seven off 14 overs. He took wickets in each of his first three overs, Babar caught on the boundary, Haider Ali caught and bowled off the top edge, and Asif Ali, bowled with a yorker. In the first five overs Phil Salt, Alex Hales and Ben Duckett were all caught midway to the deep. The first two deliveries were full, and fast, and Moeen refused to take singles off either of them. In the end the fifth game of this series came down to whether or not Moeen Ali could hit 15 runs off the final over.
