Gardaí in North Kerry are treating the death of Limerick man Donal Kennedy (33) in Ballybunion as a tragic accident.

Mr Kennedy had left friends at a bar at which he was socialising in Ballybunion to purchase the fast food. The final images of Mr Kennedy detected by gardaí were from CCTV at McMunn's Bar and Restaurant recorded at around 11.30pm on Saturday. Gardaí in North Kerry are treating the death of Limerick man Donal Kennedy (33) in Ballybunion as a tragic accident.

In a statement issued this evening, a Garda spokesman said that “following the discovery of a body of a male in the Ballybunion area today, the missing person appeal for Donal Kennedy has been stood down. 33 year-old Donal Kennedy from Caherdavin was on a night out with a group of friends attending Listowel Races when he went missing in Ballybunion last Saturday night. GARDAÍ have stood down the missing persons appeal for a 33 year-old Limerick City man following the discovery of a man’s body in the Ballybunion area earlier today.

It’s believed Donal may have taken a wrong turn on his way back to his accommodation on Saturday night and there are concerns for his safety as he has epilepsy. The 33-year-old is from Caherdavin in Limerick city and was last seen on Main Street, Ballybunion on Saturday night.
