To mark 10 years since his passing, Ulster Rugby have announced that the Memorial Stand at Kingspan Stadium will officially become the Nevin Spence Memorial Stand next April to acknowledge his lasting legacy across the professional and domestic game. Speaking about how Ulster Rugby are set to mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of Nevin, Ulster Rugby CEO Jonny Petrie said: On the 10-year anniversary of the tragic passing of former player, Nevin Spence, Ulster Rugby have today announced plans to dedicate the Memorial Stand at Kingspan Stadium in his honour.

Spence's anniversary will be marked at this Saturday's meeting between Ulster and Connacht in Belfast, although the stand won't officially be renamed until a ceremony on 26 April, which would have been his 33rd birthday. Ulster Rugby have announced that they will name a stand at their Kingspan Stadium after their former player Nevin Spence, marking the 10-year anniversary of his death.

Andrew Trimble hails Ulster tribute to Nevin Spence (Belfast Newsletter)

Ulster legend Andrew Trimble thinks it is a fitting tribute that the club will rename the Memorial stand at Kingspan Stadium in honour of Nevin Spence.

“Nev had an athleticism that was pure raw,” he said. “It is a beautiful tribute to name the stand that,” said Trimble. I know they are very proud of Nev, and I know that will make them even more proud and it is a nice gesture from Ulster.
