Ireland's Fuel Allowance is a government payment aimed at helping the most vulnerable households cover the costs of heating their houses.
- You are getting one of the following social insurance payments: Jobseeker's Benefit, Illness Benefit, Enhanced Illness Benefit, Occupational Injuries Benefit, Maternity Benefit or Disablement Benefit. - Jobseeker's Allowance for more than 312 days (over 12 months - it is paid on a 6-day week basis so 12 monthsโ payment is reached after day 312). The Fuel Allowance is generally paid with your social welfare payment on the same day. You can keep your Fuel Allowance if you move to JA from OFP, Carerโs Allowance or JST. The Fuel Allowance season normally runs from late September to April. It will then be paid for the next 28 weeks.
