Pierce Brosnan was the fifth actor to take over the role of James Bond with 1995's GoldenEye, and here's how he rated his predecessors.
Following Moore's passing in 2019, Brosnan's tribute saw him call the icon his "first real hero" and that "... Brosnan also paid tribute to the star on social media (via [Variety](https://variety.com/2020/film/news/pierce-brosnan-pays-tribute-sean-connery-1234820913/)) after his passing in 2020, stating โSir Sean Connery, you were my greatest James Bond as a boy, and as a man who became James Bond himself. Brosnan feels the same, revealing to Spotlighting News (via [MI6 Community](https://www.mi6community.com/discussion/8651/george-lazenby-and-pierce-brosnans-war-of-words)) that "Sean was brilliant, he played it dead on the money." Brosnan wasn't a big fan of the actor: "George seems to be an unhappy camper about Bond. The film proved there was still a loving audience and that Pierce was a natural in the role. The last Bond adventure prior to Brosnan's debut was Timothy Dalton's License To Kill, which was the lowest-grossing entry of the series.
