Paddy Christie set to take Longford reins (Irish Mirror)

They made little headway in the Championship, losing out to Westmeath in Leinster and Fermanagh in the Tailteann Cup. Oโ€™Loughlin came in for Longford attacking legend Padraic Davis and was the final inter-county football appointment last year, taking the reins at the end of November. He was part of the Premier backroom team that led the county to a shock Munster title win in 2020, bridging an 85 year gap. Christie was part of a Declan Shaw led team in the running for the Mayo job, which lost out to Kevin McStay and his management team. Former Sligo star Dessie Sloyan was also part of that package and will join Christie as a coach in Longford.
