Arsenal vs Fulham betting preview (Football.London)

The Inside Track brings you the best in betting previews as they look ahead to Arsenal's match against Fulham in the Premier League.

This will be the 60th meeting between the two sides with Arsenal picking up 40 wins, 11 draws and eight defeats against Fulham in all competitions. Martin Odegaard has been in great form and the new Arsenal captain is certainly setting the standard for his teammates to follow. For Mikel Arteta, he will be delighted to see his side starting so strongly to the new Premier League season especially when the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have struggled so early on. Strong wins against Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Bournemouth - including two clean sheets and nine goals - have put the north London club on the right path for Champions League qualification - although that might be a bit early to say now. The Gunners are unbeaten against their visitors at home in their last 30 meetings picking up 24 wins and six draws in that time. The Cottagers have started the season reasonably well and are yet to lose this season.

That has not been the case so far, with Mitrovic scoring three goals in his opening three games. Neither Arsenal nor Fulham have won a great deal of corners this season. Now, however, they are top of the table after winning their opening three games, scoring nine goals in the process. It is early days, but they look a different prospect this campaign and may finally put an end to their relentless yoyoing between Premier League and Championship. The turnaround has been remarkable and although they have not faced any opponent of real quality yet, Mikel Arteta deserves enormous credit for overseeing such a transformation. Arsenal were rooted to the foot of the Premier League table after losing their opening three games last season, conceding nine and scoring none.

As for Fulham, there is just the single change to the line-up from the one that won 3-2 at Brentford last weekend. But all the other situations, of course it’s taking more time than I would like. Will we see some set-piece success for the visitors in North London later on? Fulham are likely to find themselves under pressure at corners and free kicks this afternoon but they have a (not so) secret weapon of their own that they can utilise. There will be familiar faces in both goals for the Arsenal supporters inside the Emirates this afternoon. Arsenal have won all three of their games, while Fulham have one win and two draws this campaign.

There isn’t much to be taken from that string of results, however, because this Fulham side has evolved from the club that yo-yo’ed between the Premier League and Championship over the last decade.

How the Gunners got on individually in their Premier League clash with the Cottagers at the Emirates Stadium.

Caused problems for the Fulham backline with his energy and intensity. Eddie Nketiah: Made an impact after coming off the bench. Gabriel Martinelli: Nice and direct throughout and caused problems for the Fulham backline. Gabriel Jesus: A quieter day for the Brazilian who had flashes but wasn't as impactful as he has been recently. Caused problems with his directness and could have scored in the first half but for a good save from Leno. Bukayo Saka: Probably his best game of the season even if he couldn't impact via a goal. Never let his head drop even at 1-0 and didn't let the rest of the team's either. Got forward well to help the attack and performed a more disciplined role to a high level also after a second half formation switch. He didn't really take it and looked lost at times when coming infield instead of playing his usual overlapping game. Kieran Tierney: With Zinchenko out this felt like Tierney's chance to remind everyone why he was so important in years gone by. However, he popped up with the winning goal at the end to ensure the mistake remains a footnote in history. William Saliba: A confident display from the Frenchman against a difficult opponent.

Arsenal vs Fulham: Gabriel winner makes amends, keeps Gunners ... (NBC Sports)

Arsenal vs Fulham sees the hosts enter Saturday's match at the Emirates Stadium as the lone 3-0 team in the Premier League.

But Arsenal worked over Andreas Pereira, Harrison Reed, and to a lesser extent Joao Palhinha in having their way in the center of the park. And Aaron Ramsdale only needed to make a single save on the route from 0-0 to 0-1 to 2-1. It also would’ve been more acceptable for a “just get into fourth and back to the Champions League” campaign than it is a true “Arsenal is back” campaign. GIven the absences of Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko, the moral victory of coming back is a nice note and a point would’ve been okay. And while Bernd Leno, previously one of Fulham’s stars, bungled a late corner kick, it was Gabriel who cleaned up the mess and put Arsenal ahead 2-1 to preserve the Gunners’ perfect start to the Premier League season. Fulham’s pretty solid, you guys: There’s not a lot of flash to Marco Silva’s system which asks that the wingers run their shorts off and the playmakers try to find Aleksandar Mitrovic, but the Cottagers are sturdy and solid.

However, what the first half lacked, the second made up as both teams came out of the interval with added threat. This was the first time we conceded the first goal in a Premier League match in the second half and managed to come back and win since Boxing Day 2013 against West Ham. A Martinelli corner caused havoc in a congested box and Leno failed to claim the ball which dropped at the feet of Gabriel who lashed it home to atone for his error, and after a VAR check for a possible handball, the goal was given to the relief of the majority of the Emirates. Gabriel hesitated to pick a pass out from the back, and Mitrovic pounced, scooping the ball off the defender and tucking it past Ramsdale in front of the celebrating away fans.
