Race once known as GP Plouay brings finest puncheurs of peloton to parcours peppered with gravel and climbs.

“That gives a lot of confidence in the run-up to the upcoming races.” At my own request, I won’t go to the U23 world championships in Australia,” De Lie said on his team website. “With nine pro victories, I don’t have my place in that category anymore. “I can prepare with training just as well, and that way I hope to have a little more left than guys who are now riding stage races.” “It’s such a beautiful race and I love the roads around there.” Van Aert will see his classics and Tour de France wingman Christophe Laporte by his side Sunday.

His favourite races are Strade Bianche and the Volta a Portugal, and he rides a Colnago C40. However, he said that he's expecting to suffer at the race and will take some time to get back into the racing rhythm ahead of goals later in the season. "I've trained well the last few weeks and feel strong, but it usually takes a bit of time to really get back into the race rhythm. Daniel Ostanek is production editor at Cyclingnews, having joined in 2017 as a freelance contributor and later being hired as staff writer. "I visited the Tour de France Femme to cheer Urška [Zigart] which was great and then had a nice break spending some time at home in Slovenia also." AG2R Citroën rider Benoît Cosnefroy will be back to defend his title this weekend after beating Julian Alaphilippe following a long-range move last August.
