Starring Michelle Monaghan as identical twin sisters, Echoes on Netflix filmed all over the world and is now available for streaming.
The exciting new series follows the lives of Leni and Gina, two identical twin sisters that swapped lives when little and now lead double lives as adults. "Since they were children, Leni and Gina have secretly swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults," reads the official show synopsis. The entire series was mostly filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, but the cast was also spotted working in Los Angeles County, California and in Paris, France.
By the end, it's impossible to care about any of these people or what has happened to them, other than to hope the talented cast puts it behind them ...
The main problem with “Echoes” is the most common TV problem of the current era—it doesn’t have the story to support a series. The main secret (in a show full of them) that drives the narrative is that Gina and Leni have been switching places every year on their birthday, allowing one to live the mirror life of the other. It’s a shame because, again, some of the cast is up for the challenge of a twisty soap. Leni stayed back in Virginia and married her high school sweetheart Jack ( [Matt Bomer](/cast-and-crew/matt-bomer)). For four episodes, “Echoes” defiantly makes almost no sense, and not just in a traditional thriller/mystery nature but because of shallow writing and choppy editing. Sadly, the potential of “Echoes” starts to drain before the premiere is even over as it gets goofier and goofier in a way that’s not entertaining but frustrating.
Michelle Monaghan and Matt Bomer star in the new limited series Echoes, and here's how and where you can watch it.
There’s murder, betrayal, horrifying events, and probably a lot more to the story of Echoes than what we get a glimpse of in the trailer. The British mystery miniseries is based on the author’s 2012 novel of the same name. The Chestnut Man - This Danish crime series is also a Netflix original, based on the eponymous book by Søren Sveistrup. But Echoes takes the trope to a very twisted and dark level. Echoes is a Netflix original series, which means you can watch the series exclusively on this streaming network and is not available anywhere else. In quick succession, we see clips from the sisters’ past and present, a dead horse, and a crashed and burned car with a dead body, portraying the intensity of the plot and proving that this isn’t going to be one of your average twin-swapping tales. The Chestnut Man and Echoes might be very different in the premise, but their settings and narrative are a lot similar. The sheriff of the town, Louise Floss, played by Karen Robinson, appears to be suspicious of a few people. You can watch this space for the latest updates on all episodes of Echoes when they become available. You can easily download the streaming app on your phones or other smart devices and get unlimited access to shows, movies, miniseries, sports, and other interactive content. With its chilling storyline and a dark setting, Echoes promises a gripping drama. Their secret scheme has led to each of them living a double life, with two husbands, two homes, and so on.

"Echoes" and "Bad Sisters" premiere Aug. In the realm of streaming, as with family, those are the kind of ties that bind. Darkly funny, the show operates in different time frames, with the later part involving a pair of insurance agents (Brian Gleeson, Daryl McCormack) convinced that foul play was involved in John Paul's demise. And while those threads come together well at the finish, the most apt recent comparison would be another Apple entry, That's despite Monahan's latest addition to the long list of actors who have conducted both sides of a conversation to some stunt double. And when it’s revealed at the end of the first episode that Gina is really Leni, we’re left scratching our heads; we still weren’t clear which sister Monaghan was currently playing and which left. As she goes looking for Leni in some of their old haunts from when they were kids, including a local cave, we find out that Gina is actually Leni; the two regularly switch lives. Gina goes to the house where she grew up, where her father Victor (Michael O’Neill) lives with her younger sister Claudia (Ali Stoker), who completely resents Gina for leaving. The Gist: Gina McCleary (Michelle Monaghan), an author in LA, is very close to her identical twin sister Leni (also Monaghan), who is a horse farmer in Virginia. The folksy sheriff, who was a deputy when Gina left town under extreme circumstances, knows what she’s been through and relates the story to deputy Paula Martinez (Rosanny Zayas). It’s more than just wanting to help, though; the two of them are so connected that she wouldn’t know what to do if Leni was no longer around.

Charlie gives a speech in the bookstore for his new book “Leni and Gina.” It would seem that Gina is actually still alive too. In fact, the clerk Leni speaks to at the airport points out that someone who looks identical to her passed through yesterday heading off to Kansas. Unfortunately, Leni slips out the back and manages to avoid all the police and make it to the airport without incident. Over at the station, Floss decides she needs to pore through the evidence and try to find something that shows Leni is a liar and that she did start the fire after all. The initial idea here is to make it seem like Paula is trying to help Leni and slow Floss down. Gina backs up though and decides to throw herself off the waterfall, sacrificing herself to give Leni another chance at redemption.
