Back to senior level and Viborg have experienced plenty of ups and downs over the past 15 years. [TfL](https://tfl.gov.uk/campaign/strikes) London Overground services will be reduced between 8am-6pm and no service will run after 6pm. The same happened in 1990, when Viborg finished bottom again, this time with just 14 points. We will also have highlights and exclusive reaction for you after the final whistle. They were relegated in 2008, promoted in 2013, relegated in 2014, promoted in 2015, relegated again in 2017 and promoted back to the Superliga as champions in 2021. There, we will face three group-stage opponents home and away. In 1999, the club moved to full-time professionalism, with instant results, as Viborg finished fourth in the Superliga and won the Danish Cup for the first time in their history the following summer, defeating Aalborg 1-0 in the final at Parken Stadium in the capital, Copenhagen, in front of over 18,000 fans. [c2c](https://www.c2c-online.co.uk/media-centre/latest-news/latest-industrial-action-update/) services from south Essex will also be reduced and end by 6.30pm, likewise with no return services to the same destinations after the match. Gianluca Scamacca scored his first West Ham goal as the Hammers secured a 3-1 win over Danish side Viborg in the first leg of their Europa Conference League ...

WEST HAM 2-1 VIBORG (JAKOB BONDE JENSEN): What a moment for the visitors, but this wasn't in West Ham's script! WEST HAM 2-0 VIBORG (JARROD BOWEN): A moment of quality from Bowen doubles West Ham's lead! He sprints into space after receiving a pass from Soucek and the defenders back off as he winds up a fierce shot that ends up in the bottom corner. Scamacca is on the end of it to head it home ruthlessly past the goalkeeper. But they took their foot off the pedal and were almost punished in the opening exchanges of the second period, Alphonse Areola making a big save to deny Justin Lonwijk and keep his side in the lead. But the stuffing was knocked out of the visitors when West Ham’s new boys combined to devastating effect, Cornet turning his marker inside out before delivering a precision cross that was ruthlessly finished by the head of Scamacca.

New €36 million man opens account in West Ham win (The42)

Gianluca Scamacca headed in the opener as the Hammers earned a 3-1 Europa Conference League first-leg advantage against Viborg.

Viborg were providing a sporadic threat and when Cornet gave the ball away Grot was sent through on goal, with Alphonse Areola racing out to save with his legs. Former Burnley winger Cornet worked his way to the byline, cut back inside and lifted over a cross for Scamacca to head home at the far post. But Moyes watched on from the stands as almost £50 million (€59 million) worth of his summer acquisitions combined to give West Ham a 24th-minute lead.

Gianluca Scamacca opens West Ham account as Conor Coventry ... (Irish Examiner)

Gianluca Scamacca scored his first West Ham goal as the Hammers began their latest European campaign with a 3-1 win over Danish club Viborg.

West Ham were without Declan Rice and Aaron Cresswell, as well as Moyes, with all banned for various indiscretions in the agonising Europa League semi-final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in May. It had also been a tough build-up for Viborg for what was probably the biggest night in their history after two players, Nigerian winger Ibrahim Said and Gambia forward Alassana Jatta, were denied entry into the country due to visa rules post-Brexit. It gave the Hammers some breathing space ahead of the second leg of this qualifying play-off in Denmark next week as they bid to make the group stages of the Europa Conference League.

Ireland U21 star Coventry makes full West Ham debut (The42)

The midfielder has been handed a first senior start in the Europa Conference League qualifier against Viborg.

It is the youngster’s fifth senior appearance in total for West Ham, having come off the bench three times in the EFL Cup and once in the Premier League in their 2-0 loss to Manchester City earlier this month. It is a reward for an encouraging loan spell at MK Dons last season, as he played an integral part in a campaign that saw them fall just short of promotion from League One. The 22-year-old midfielder has been handed a full debut for West Ham, just under four years on from his first appearance for the Premier League club.

West Ham player ratings: Gianluca Scamacca's scoring full debut ... (Football.London)

How West Ham's players rated at the London Stadium on a day where they looked to pick up their first win of the 2022/23 season in all competitions against ...

Having started at Forest on Sunday, Benrahma showed such quality to fly down the line and do all of the work for Antonio to poke home. In danger of losing a starting spot as the season goes on, Antonio did not do too much when coming on, but his goal will mean a lot in this tie. He marked his first start in claret and blue with a first goal midway through the first half, helping himself to an excellent cross from Cornet with a header that matched. There was a first start for the Hammers for Ivorian winger Maxwel Cornet who had a major say on the first goal, chopping twice past his marker before delivering a superb cross for Scamacca to do the rest with. Manuel Lanzini was back in the starting side, having lost his place in the 11 at Sunday against Nottingham Forest to Pablo Fornals. Czech Republic international Tomas Soucek was really good in the heart of midfield at getting the dirty work done, often recycling possession for the hosts allowing them to get the ball back and attack quickly. With Declan Rice suspended and Flynn Downes currently having a minor concern over a toe issue, Conor Coventry was thrown in from the off and started in the centre of midfield next to Tomas Soucek. The absence of Cresswell through suspension saw a shift around the backline, with Vladimir Coufal playing at left-back in a makeshift role. A fairly composed return barring a bit of trouble marking Grot, replaced midway through the second half to allow a debut for Kehrer. After an absence of over nine months through injury, Angelo Ogbonna returned to the starting side and captained a rotated 11, coming back to help ease the club's centre-back issues and allow Kurt Zouma to rest. Pressed high in the second half and improved on a quiet first half showing. Much of Viborg's chances in the tie were from distance but Areola matched them with a few good saves.
