Kanye West has come under fire for mocking up a fake New York Times newspaper front page announcing Pete Davidson's 'death', just two days after the SNL ...
West shared a screenshot of the text he sent Davidson that read'...you as a man I'd never get in the way of your children. West replied to Kardashian via text, 'I will always do everything to protect you and our family forever. West captioned the shot: 'no comment.' Kim and Pete announced their shock split on Saturday after a nine month romance. On Twitter, a user wrote, 'If I was Pete Davidson, I’d be genuinely terrified for my life. He filled in for Kanye at the last minute but then Kanye turned up later anyway and performed. This is emotional abuse and will end very badly for this family. I got love for the nannies, but real family is better. 'I wear these Yeezy boots everywhere, even in the shower today. If you want to troll anyone, troll yourself for marrying that plastic and meddling in that coven of a family. As a fan I hate this for you. Stop this nonsense and focus on your craft and kids!
Apparently weighing in on Davidson's split from Kim Kardashian, West shared a mock-up of a newspaper front page that read: "SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28."
To be good leader is to be a good listener." "I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim. I take accountability. The messages were leaked by Davidson's friend, writer Dave Sirus. And it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave. All posts on West's Instagram feed have since been removed. Back in February, West shared screenshots of messages where Kardashian warned him that he was creating a "dangerous and scary environment" for Davidson with his posts.
Ye returned to Instagram early Monday morning with a post seemingly intended as a response to reports of Kim and Pete having ended their relationship.
At any rate, it’s worth noting here that Ye has been largely inactive (at least directly) on social media as of late. In other words, perhaps the faux Times front-page image is intended to note that both the nickname itself and its related elements (which have included an animated Skete head, among other things) are being put to rest. Also referenced in the Kid Cudi’s recent Rolling Loud Miami set.
Kanye West is happy about Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian's breakup. So much so that he killed off the "Skete" moniker he created this year.
Ye deleted the meme hours after posting, reverting his Instagram to its blank slate. But Ye didn’t stop at Davidson: The fine print of the newspaper also pokes fun at former collaborator Kid Cudi, who recently left the Rolling Loud stage midperformance after he was hit with a water bottle by “fans” in the crowd. Surprisingly, West then appeared as a special guest during Lil Durk’s set, performing his song “Father Stretch My Hands” (which features Cudi).
Ye, 45, posted a doctored image of a New York Times front-page obituary on Monday that read, "Skete Davidson Dead at Age 28." Skete, of course, is the nickname ...
A source told PEOPLE at the time that Davidson was "exactly what Kim needed after her divorce" and "someone to make her laugh and just have a fun time with." They further noted "the end of her marriage was a very dark time for her, and Pete has been the best antidote." After learning about the relationship, Ye referred to Davidson as a "dickhead" in a now-deleted Instagram post.
This time, Kanye's using the Gray Lady to make bizarre threats.
“It’s been a really weird thing to go through,” Davidson said of West’s public hatred during a stand-up routine in April. “People try to give you advice but even friends that are older than me are like, ‘I don’t know. Beyond the harassment and stalking, he’s dragged his Yeezys in their ongoing divorce proceedings, driving away five attorneys in the process. West also attempted to disseminate a rumor that Davidson had AIDS (shockingly, this wasn’t the catalyst for West’s 24-hour ban from Instagram). Frankly, it’s unclear how many friends Ye has these days, but surely he could’ve at least gone back to resuscitating the Gap, or curating another it-girl instead of resorting to the not-even-slightly amusing bullying we’ve unfortunately come to expect from him. The billionaire rapper-cum-designer posted a fake New York Times front page with a single all-caps headline that read, “Skete Davidson Dead At Age 28.” Disturbingly, this wasn’t the first time West “killed” Davidson this year.
An optimistic take on the morbid headline would be that with Skete Davidson dead and gone, West's relentless mocking of Pete Davidson could finally come to an ...
“It’s been a really weird thing to go through,” Davidson said about the situation during a standup routine in May. “People try to give you advice but even friends that are older than me are like, ‘I don’t know. “Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers,” the subscript reads, mocking the artist’s recent departure from Rolling Loud mid-set. But the small print underneath the bold text doesn’t suggest that any kind of a friendship awaits on the horizon for West and Davidson — or their shared link Kid Cudi.
