Livingston vs Rangers – LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

Antonio Colak, John Souttar and Tom Lawrence started the match with Bayern Munich loanee Malik Tillman making a positive impact off the bench in his first competitive bow. He looks a special talent James Tavernier gives Rangers the lead with a thunderous free kick into the top corner. A quickfire second half turnaround ensures Rangers start the Scottish Premiership season with a victory. Rangers are getting cross after cross into the Livingston penalty box but it's just the case of finding a man in space who can create an opportunity. But relief came with 18 minutes left as first Scott Arfield flicked home a header to level before skipper James Tavernier followed that up almost immediately with a perfectly-struck free-kick to get the Scottish Cup winners off and running. Gio van Bronckhorst’s team looked to be on course for a repeat of the defeat they suffered to Hearts in Dick Advocaat’s first season in charge back in 1998 after Joel Nouble gave Livingston a shock lead. The big Englishman gave Rangers the run-around for most of the first-half while the rest of his team-mates worked tirelessly to add to Rangers’ frustrations. Neil McCann tells BBC Sportsound that Malik Tillman showed he has the potential to be one of the players of the season during his second half cameo in Rangers win over Livingston. The 47-year-old was jubilant after watching his team battle back from a goal down to secure all three points on the opening day of the season. The stakes are high as both sides this season with Rangers having aspirations of a Scottish Premiership title. The opening day of the season offers hope for every club that this is a season where trophies can be landed and dreams realised.

Bet Builder Tips: Your 13/1 Saturday play for Livingston v Rangers (Paddy Power News)

The Scottish Premiership is interesting. That's not me trying to pitch a marketing slogan to the decision-makers in Scottish football, it's an honest appraisal ...

If one leg of your 4+ fold Bet Builder fails to land, you get up to £/€10 back as a free bet. I would expect this trend to continue in 2022/23 as Rangers kick off with a Win. It’s worth noting that Rangers’ top scorer in the league last year netted just 11 goals. To the Bet Builder! Prior to last year, nine points separated the top two. The Scottish Premiership is interesting.

Rangers come from behind to win 2-1 at Livingston; Jon Nouble opened the scoring for the hosts; Scott Arfield and James Tavernier scored in quick succession ...

"It's always good to start with a win. "First half we didn't play well and we conceded the first goal too easily, but in the second half we saw the team I like to see creating chances and dominating the game. It is the second season in a row Rangers have claimed a victory over Livingston on the opening day. However, Livingston held firm and maintained a threat on the break, with the height and power of Nouble proving a handful. Two goals in just 101 seconds saw Rangers come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Livingston on the opening day of the new season. It's Arfield from the bench! Now Kamara gives away a free-kick and he is also on a booking. Nouble has been a constant threat and his goal puts his side ahead at the break. It's bread and butter stuff for the Livi defence and a change in tactics might be needed. We are back underway in West Lothian and there's a lot of work to do for Rangers in this half. Tavernier has the first real chance of the half as he hits a shot low but it is easily saved. There was a change at the break for Rangers with Malik Tillman on in place of Scott Wright. A cross from the left finds the Croatian all alone but he's deemed to be a yard ahead of the Livi defence. This is all Rangers and you feel it's a matter of when not if Rangers get a leveller. Now a free-kick awaits right on the edge of the Livi box. A great cross is floated in and Arfield is on hand to restore parity The attempt in a good area is poor from Barisic as he sails it wide of the mark.

Report: Livingston 1-2 Rangers (Rangers Football Club)

That meant it was a back five of Jon McLaughlin in goal with Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Souttar and Borna Barisic in front of him. Glen Kamara and John ...

Then, with 73 minutes on the clock, Rangers drew themselves level. Drawing themselves level was one thing, but less than two minutes later, Rangers were ahead. But with their first foray up field, Livingston took the lead. Colak was felled 22-yards from goal to the right of the target, with James Tavernier stepping up to take the free-kick. A bouncing ball wasn’t dealt with by Gers, and from the edge of the area, Joel Nouble was able to lob a ball over McLaughlin and into the back of the net to hand them the lead with just five minutes on the clock. In front of over 7500 away supporters, Gers made a lively start and inside 30 seconds, Tavernier was in-behind the home defence with Kent inches away from connecting to his cross.
