For her to think her daughter would be born into a world with less rights on her body than her mom was born into — that was a very heavy burden on her heart.” “Is someone going to attack me in a way that’s also attacking my unborn child?” asked Riley Moos, 28, an attorney in Tacoma, Wash., who in June posted an abortion rights photo of her pregnant body. “If you are looking for action steps ... donate to local abortion funds, give to the organizations that are on the ground assisting with care.” “I think it’s very important to show up with a pregnant belly and make that statement.” “I wanted to bring a daughter into the world knowing that she could be anything, and that starts with bodily autonomy,” she said. Photographer Chelsea Maras of Huntington Beach was already a supporter of abortion rights when she had an abortion to resolve her miscarriage in 2021. “It struck a nerve with me that abortion is 100% healthcare,” she said. The client posed in tall grass, wearing her cream, floral robe open to show her belly. “People do it all the time.” “It was very directly correlated to the timing of the leaked [Supreme Court] draft and then the decision to overturn Roe vs. As part of her registry, she’s soliciting donations for the National Network of Abortion Funds. “She doesn’t possess value just because you happen to want her.”

With the record-breaking success of “A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence,” which raised $2.2 billion from 2016 to 2022, philanthropy is helping to sustain the University’s tradition of education, research and service to communities across the commonwealth and around the globe. “Paul and Kathy are loyal donors,” said Lori J. Bechtel-Wherry, chancellor and dean at Penn State Altoona. “Their legacy gift supporting Penn State Altoona students reflects their passion for our students who are majoring in engineering and environmental studies. He went on to work for General Electric in Charlottesville, Virginia. With a desire to move from engineering to marketing, he eventually earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986. This is a fantastic opportunity for us, and we are excited to be able to do this as a legacy gift, but see it put into action today.” After graduation, he worked for Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In 1983, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology. The gift secured an additional $10,000 for students through the recently concluded Legacy Challenge Matching Program, which incentivized donors to create scholarships through planned gifts.

How to Calculate the Number of Major Gift Officers You Need (NonProfit PRO)

This area is tricky because major gifts is considered to be a high net revenue fundraising strategy, so uninformed leaders and managers will mistakenly think that the return on a major gift program should be higher than other strategies at the ...

Remember, a donor with an MGO will give more and attrition less than one without an MGO. So, adding MGOs is a good economic decision although, on the surface, it seems expensive and risky, at least to start. Since it will take three to four months to search for and hire an MGO, and that costs money, and since it will take six to eight months to get a new MGO fully functional, you will have a negative cash-flow situation with your new MGO during the first 12 months of operation. If they are not on board with a slow and deliberate ramp up you will have naysayers spreading negative vibes throughout the organization and poisoning the spirit of the MGO. It will not work. You must figure this out and plan for it so you don’t get into a situation where you are expecting more revenue from the MGO and then start to put pressure on the MGO to put pressure on their donors. So, if you want to have a qualified caseload of 150 donors you will need, at least, 450 donors who meet your criteria in a caseload pool. In that environment, it might be difficult for a manager to agree that a major gift program should have a ROI of less than one-to-four in its first year.

LOTR: Where Did The Gift Of The Valar Originate? (Game Rant)

This Gift is what distinguishes Men from Elves and other races in Arda, but what is it exactly?

In short, the Gift was Ilúvatar's way of distinguishing Men from Elves and the other races of Arda, and allowing their spirits to leave this mortal plane rather than be stuck on it until the literal end of time. While the Gift was intended as a blessing from the supreme deity of Arda, its corruption came quickly, and it became something to be feared rather than welcomed at its proper time. When the first Dark Lord showed up in Arda, Ilúvatar's original vision of the Gift was tainted, and Men began to fear death and see the Gift as a curse rather than a liberation. This led to the destruction of Númenor when they sent a fleet to the Undying Lands, since Sauron had convinced them that this would give them the knowledge of the immortality of the Elves. Needless to say, it didn't go over well, and it led to the lifespans of Men shortening from the long Númenorean lives to something much shorter. Because of this Gift, it was decided that Men would be the main instruments of Ilúvatar in the world. The history of the creation and early days of Middle Earth in particular is a period of lore that even the most die-hard Tolkien fans might find hard to parse.

The Gift of the Outlier: George Church on Neurodiversity, Collison of ... (Bio-IT World)

By Allison Proffitt. July 26, 2022 | George Church is known for his scientific creativity and willingness to try new approaches. He credits neurodiversity ...

These outside-the-box thinkers don’t reject ideas according to what is “normal” and expected. When hiring or forming collaborations, Church says he looks for the ability to deal with ambiguity and contradictions. When looking at 2-D drawings, “if I’ve been exposed to the three-dimensional version of it, it folds up in my head.” And he’s continued to make good use of these strengths. As host, BioTeam co-founder Stan Gloss brings years of industry experience in science, data, and technology to conversations exploring what is driving data and discovery, and what’s coming next. “If you think differently on any axis—if you’re ostracized for any reason—then that means you become more self-reliant, more of a self-starter, sometimes with a little bit of something to prove… That problem-solving prowess isn’t a feature of the diagnosis, Church points out, but of resilience overcoming adversity and developing agile mental tricks over time. He enjoyed that challenge of taking a two-dimensional picture and figuring out the three-dimensions behind it. “I think my brain just kept rewiring; I think a lot of people’s brains rewire over time,” he says. “Because my brain wasn’t getting wired up to get really good at reading the words in nice straight lines and nice block paragraphs, I tended to look at images, especially two and three-dimensional thinking… But he was “constantly being advised to take outside reading classes.” I would compensate in various ways throughout my life and that took some of the sting out of it. He credits neurodiversity for those skills and the grit they developed in him.

Tullow family's fundraising cycle is their gratitude for the gift of life (The Nationalist)

Thankfully that miracle came when, after 21 days, Charlene and Freya were reunited.

The ladies at Marisol admit that dads aren’t always in the picture when they’re walking with the women they serve, but they are so happy when the father is involved. “There are so many life decisions that are surrounding it that they’re fearful and they’re debilitated in that fear, and they feel like they have no other choice or option but to consider this. “We really take care of mom because if she feels like she’s special and that she’s worth it and she has dignity, then with the life inside of her, she sees that dignity. This is not done in an attempt to “dupe” or “hoodwink” anybody; it is done first and foremost out of love for that woman. “But far beyond that is just the emotional support of knowing that they had somebody who’s for them and who believes in them.” But the hope is that when they come through our doors, that they can rest here.” When a woman experiencing an unexpected pregnancy comes to them, in addition to offering comprehensive medical care through a partnership with Bella Health and Wellness, Marisol has the means to help them find affordable housing and other resources that will empower an expectant mother to be a mother. “That’s the beauty of Marisol, we will serve everyone, and everyone’s circumstance is a little bit different,” said Sara, Program Director at Marisol. “We try to really serve the individual where they are. Spirituality is at the root of the important and vital work they do. “There are just so many factors that drive a woman to abortion that I would say most of the time, she’s not making a free choice,” she added. Sister Michela recalled one woman during her time at the convent in New York who approached the Sisters. This woman had discovered that she was pregnant with her fourth child and had just lost her job that day. From that point on, the Sisters are in it for the long haul with her.
